As of September 16th, 2010, Mexico will be 200 years old.

Oh, and if you thought Mexico's birthday was May 5th, yeah I used to think that too. We were wrong.

Although independence was declared in 1810 (from a puppet Napoleon installed on the throne of Spain), it wasn't legally declared untill 1813, and wasn't achieved until 1821.

That means we get 11-years of... hmm.... drink specials?
