10.1 The Pilot: Overnights: 4.64 million / Live + Timeshifted: 6.68 million* / AI Figure: 83 / Chart Postion: 10 (6 in Individual Series)

So while the heyday of the Series viewership might be behind it, to come back after a year and a half slightly up on where Series 9 started (6.43 million) is pretty good. And put in perspective with the overall drop in viewing figures for everything over the past decade it's still holding up well. In fact, it was one of only two BBC shows in the Top 10 and three in the Top 20 for the week.

*This will also add around another 0.75 million in iPlayer views but those numbers won't be available for a while.

Smile had overnights of 4.25 million and an AI of 83, obvs we won't have the timeshifted figure for a while.

The Audience Share has been pretty good too I think 20-25% but that's from overnights, am not sure about finals.

10.1 The Pilot: Overnights: 4.64 million / Live + Timeshifted: 6.68 million / AI Figure: 83 / Chart Postion: 10 (6 in Individual Series)
10.2 Smile: Overnights: 4.25 million / Live + Timeshifted: 5.98 million / AI Figure: 83 / Chart Postion: 22 (10 in Individual Series)

So two-for-two in terms of beating the numbers for the same episodes last series. And with Broadchurch and Line Of Duty over it has a good chance of moving back into the Top 10 again.

Overnights down for Thin Ice, 3.76 mill, but AI up at 84, interesting to see what the timeshift figure is.

*Very slightly under 9.3 which came in at 5.7 million.
Overnights for Knock, Knock were up, so if Timeshifts hold steady it should beat 9.4
Series Average so far is 2% up on Series 9, which doesn't sound like much, but given the downward trend across virtually everything on TV over the past 18 months it's still a small achievement.

Knock Knock has an AI of 83 as well so no drop off in enjoyment apparent, in the wider community at least!

Moving away from the UK I see that the ratings on BBC America have pretty much collapsed and it's been getting half of what Series 9 did.

Given that the series relies on a budget top-up from them is this a cause for concern?

Doesn´t sound to good. I´d be interested in how the licenses to other countries around the world factor in the budget.

The new season didn't get much of a write up in Entertainment Weekly, I noticed.. Wheras, during the Smith era, he made the cover... Lack of marketing budget, perhaps?

It may not be connected to the ratings decline, but the sales on Titan's Doctor Who comics have declined dramatically over the last year. (Unconnected reasons would include inconsistent shipping and delays, too much product on the market, etc.)

*Slightly under 9.4 but overall Series 10 continues to keep pace with Series 9

The show was basically off the air for a year. People have moved on. I think that might have something to do with it.

That certainly won't have helped the show, that is for sure, and we are going to have well over a year until the next season hits the screens again in the autumn of 2018.

At this stage i am unsure if the BBC loves or hates this show. lol

Oxygen overnights were only 3.57 million, but I wonder if that's partly down to Eurovision and people getting ready to watch that/go out for that. As always the Live + Timeshifted figure will give a better indication. Oxygen had an AI of 83, which is slightly disappointing but given S9 had episodes that dropped as low as 78 (which is still, in my understanding, not a terrible score) we shouldn't complain.

I suspect there'll be some in the BBC who hate it unreservedly, and some who love it just as vehemently, but I suspect for the most part it's just seen as AN Other successful show and the execs are happy to shunt it around/take it off our screens for a while/furnish it with a huge new budget depending on the time.

As I've said before, I think the ratings/AI scores are some distance away from where the BBC might consider pulling the plug.

Yeah, these figures are very solid for a show 10 series in. Those gnashing their teeth about poor performance compared to the Tennant era are failing to take into account increasing use of iPlayer and/or iTunes. As long as the Live+Timeshifts are up in the 5 million plus I doubt the Beeb will consider "resting" the show.

Yeah it's honestly not that bad. or even just an issue with Doctor Who.
In the US for the 5 over the air networks 1 show had increased ratings from last year, 2 were flat, and nearly every other show was down 10-30%

More and more people are watching shows other ways, either via services like Netflix or that channels website.

This, plus a "Lame Duck" series for Capaldi hurts.

Plus, it's SERIES 10. Marketing a new Doctor will help a bit--but DOCTOR WHO has peaked.
