I'm put in mind of this because I'm currently watching "Django Unchained" for the Nth time (plainly my favourite Tarantino movie, eclipsing Jackie Brown), and I'm curious to see how Tarantino fares on the board.

Choices on the poll consists of movies directed by Tarantino.

:rommie: It's possible I'm a little tipsy as I'm posing the question. Lemme see if I can fix that.

[Or maybe we can ask the mods to delete this thread?)

I don't think you could count Sin City as that movie had many directors who directed part of the movie.

Personally my Top 3 are Django Unchained, Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction

Django because it is so unmistakenly Tarantino.. a bow out to all the Western movies we also enjoyed mixed with cool characters, humor and excessive swearing and gore ( i still am in stitches when Sam Jackson's slave character goes on a tear when the guests arrive :guffaw::guffaw:).

Jackie Brown is just such a smooth con movie.. the original material is not by Tarantino but he did assemble a perfect cast and made it his own.

Pulp Fiction.. well, D'oh! :)

For me:

Great movies:
1) Pulp Fiction
2) Kill Bill (I consider them one movie)
3) Resevoir Dogs

Good movies:
4) Jackie Brown
5) Inglorious Basterds
6) Django Unchained

Bad movies:
7) Death Proof

I'm a bigger fan of his earlier genre fun movies than his later revenge porn movies.

Inglourious Basterds. The scene where they're trying to out the spy in the tavern is my favorite scene in movie history.

That is a pretty great one. :techman:

I'm not particularly a fan of that scene. My favorite scene in the movie is the opening scene in the cabin where the Jewish family is hiding under the house. That particular scene I thought broke the pace of the movie, and the whole King Kong joke, while funny, seemed a bit too self indulgent to include in this particular movie. You could tell that it was something Tarantino thought of a long time ago and was just looking for a movie to add it to, and I don't think he picked the right one.

I wish Tarantino would get over this revenge porn kick and move in a new direction. I like that parody when Christoph Waltz appeared on SNL where Jesus came back and took bloody revenge on Pontius Pilate.

I heard he cancelled a movie just because the script leaked. And at one point I think he was planning Kill Bill Vol 3 but he may have shelved that when David Carradine died. (You know he would have wanted Bill in flashbacks).

I think the most recent word is that, after a couple years of saying it was off, he now is doing Kill Bill 3 again. Of course there's nothing to say he can't change his mind once again.
