Yeah, they do protrude a little. It's more obivious in that high res pic I just posted. I may move them in a little, I think that they stick out a little too much. -=MadMan=-
Sorry, not trying to make more work! Your model is gorgeous and it's easy to look at. Right below the "torpedo bay" is a white-lit strip. What's that?
I think it's intended to be a window. It's lit up in some of the images in the trailer. I may be wrong, though. I just noticed I had a texture problem there, have to fix that. -=MadMan=-
Tweaked the Bridge area some... It's now more accurate to the toy. I also went around tweaking various things, that no one but me would probably notice. -=MadMan=-
OK, been playing around with some more images... I think this is one of my best in quite a while. I'm proud of it, anyway. and a square one... Also, in case anyone is interested, I made a really high resolution render to pick at. It's a link... http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y2...erprise V3 Done/STXIV3_FR_020_BIG_Cropped.jpg Feel free to cut this guy out and make some wallpapers, if anyone wants to. -=MadMan=-
Wow, that is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Sooooo neat to see it "grow' right before our eyes. Is there a difference between the 3D method(s) you use, MadMan, and the one PixelMagic was using> He seemed to use the orthographics in position to create his model, while you seem to do it "freeform". Is there a name for each approach? Anywho, that's really amazing. Especially the level of detail!
Beautiful. Now, did you photoshop those shuttles in, or actually render them? (With your work, it's hard to tell Man that is a nice piece of work. New desktop, in fact.
Madman1701A tasks me! He tasks me to make a wallpaper with this beautiful hi res image... and I shall HAVE HIM!!!
And here is the result of said tasking. The Enterprise at warp in the JJ Trek trailer style. SEND ME MORE TO PLAY WITH MADMAN1701A!
Thanks. I really don't know what to call the styles, but I think "Freeform" is definitely a was do describe how I do it. I can apply an image in the background, on the side plane, so I can get everything lined up that way, but I've never really done it the way PixelMagic does. That's probably because I learned how to use Blender by muddling through it. -=MadMan=-
Alright! My goal is to take over as many desktops as possible. I'm hoping in my daily travels I will see one on someones computer! (Besides my own, of course.) I actually lifted the shuttles straight off of that high res image we had. I think they mesh pretty well, even though the are a little dark. The looked too grainy if I brightened them any, though. -=MadMan=-
Wait a minute... you're doing this in blender?! That's amazing! My FX team that worked on Of Gods and Men used a combinaiton of lightwave and Max, but we had one fella' who worked several scenes and meshes from Blender including that beautiful omega device weapons bay interior on Mitchell's ship. Nice work indeed!
Thanks everybody. Maybe Tutorials one day. So, is it an accomplishment that this is all done in Blender? It's the only 3d app I've ever really used, and didn't think it was all that different. Is Max easier? Maybe I need to make a transition. -=MadMan=-
I would say you have Blender down to an art. One thing I've forgotten to ask in so many other threads... can you render animation in Blender? I think it would be awsome to see even 5 or 10 second animated shots of your models in action.
