You know, I read the body of the post said "hmm, I wonder who could have posted that?", then looked over and saw your name.

...Thanks for giving me new nightmare fuel to Google.

As much as I HATE the design of this... "ship", I have to say that you have done some INCREDIBLE work with the blueprints so far... they looks very clean, detailed, and high-quality.

    thanks,
it's still not "there" yet. :)

One thing, whether you like it or hate it, man that thing is detailed.
Must be a huge ILM computer farm capable of rendering that. :) (as if every tiny panel is a mesh/model/piece, and not just a texture/bumpmap).

Yeah, the quality of the model itself is pretty amazing.

You know, something I keep thinking about....remember that fuzzy LA traffic shot of a studio backlot with a big blurry object that looked rather "enterprise-ish"....might there be a big physical shooting model for some of the really close beauty shots? I say that because this model seems so "real/detailed/non-CGI" to me...

then again maybe ILM's really raised the CG bar again.

    Just a thought.

That shot was of the "mining platform" I believe...
