Never said I wasn't. But I'm also not making judgments about somebody I don't know and haven't met based on incomplete evidence.

That's patently untrue, but since you've clearly made up your mind and aren't going to be swayed by anything that doesn't conform to your view of the monster you've decided Shaun is, I see no point in continuing this discussion.

I don't think there are any refugees here yet - just those of us who already frequented both places anyway.

Just run for the hills if Sparacus shows up.

    A necktie party?

Though it'd be interesting to see how Captain Ben Chatham of Starfleet would insidiously take over the place...

Perhaps Sparacus is already here, disguised as one of us. :)

Oh, that would be hilarious. I can so easily imagine Spara and Chris Bennett sparring over when Ben Chatham is going to appear in a Star Trek novel, because Ben Chatham is so obviously canon.

    I'd sell tickets! :)

I remeber when OG had its Adam Rickitt phase, you know I think most of the trouble on that forum is actually started by this sparacus character.

Another classic phase the forum was "Adam is Davros"

and if anyone doesnt know who Adam Rickitt is

I believe he was once in long running UK soap Corrie.

    Jesus.

OG wouldn't accept my email addy, so I said "snooks" to them. Glad I did.

That Ben Chatham stuff is awful. I puked a little in my mouth.

If sapacus shows here, I wiil ask for his immediate removal.

I was a member of OG/DWF. Not prolific or anything. I enjoyed the place. I tried to read through their review threads, but those were massive. A lot of the threads were massive.

I think it's a real shame it's closing down. But TrekBBS has always been my first love!

I have to say I'm really going to miss DWF / OG. Although I've technically been a member here for longer (though pretty much a lurker) once I started re-acquainting myself with the good Doctor I found it the ideal place to visit on the net and it's now my online home.

Can't say I've ever had any problems there and to be honest I've found it to be one of the more hospitable places on the internet compared to a lot of other boards I've been on in the past.

Most importantly it's the place where I've met a whole load of online friends many, many of which are now real life friends (living in and around Cardiff, you tend to meet a whole load of Who lovers these days ;) ) - and the fact that DWF / OG is now disappearing is really incredibly sad for me.

But am looking on the positive side. It looks like much of the diaspora will be heading to Gallifrey Base so fingers crossed a lot of the OG / DWF identity will be maintained even under a different management leadership.

It seems the moment has been prepared for...

Yeah, it must be a shock if a forum you've grown accustomed to is closing. There are at least two forums where that is the case for me. I know most of the regular users of one of them in real life, too. I'd be very sad if these were to close, so I can relate.
Well, maybe Gallifrey Base will be less picky about e-mail addys... :shifty:
