Your TV shows of the '70s....

During the faraway times of the 1970s the No. ! show I was watching regularly was Star Trek TOS in syndicated reruns. It was an all-consuming passion of which I couldn't get enough. But, alas, it wasn't a program of the 1970s. Nonetheless there were other programs I watched during the ages 11-20.

A lot has changed since then, but there had been a lot of fun times sitting in front of our cabinet style colour television set.

I was born in 1964.
I can't even begin to list all the shows I watched in the 70s.
In any decade there were shows I made a point of trying to watch (hence regularly), but there were a lot of shows you're simply aware of and watch periodically out of curiosity and/or boredom.

I remember periodically watching The Carol Burnett Show, but I don't recall seeking that one out on my own and my memories are of my parents watching the show and I would watch it with them. Other shows like that were Red Skelton and the Dean Martin Roasts.

Well a lot of mine originated in the '60s - Batman being my favourite show of the '70S, but as for shows actually made in the '70s that I watched at the time (some may have bled into the very early '80s because they were US imports). I've only included scripted shows below but I also watched (all UK) Blue Peter, Jackanory, Magpie, Tomorrow's World and Why Don't You.
Battlestar Galactica
Bionic Woman
Buck Rogers in the 25th Century

U.F.O. was another must-watch for me in the '70s.

Space: 1999 was something I glanced at then simply ignored. I recall it being touted by some as the successor to Star Trek. No way in hell was my assessment at the time.

I would finally see the series in its entirety decades later (only a few years ago) and while some segments are decent enough and better than I remember (particularly in Season 1) the series is still nowhere on the same level as TOS.

I had a Space: 1999 lunchbox when I was a kid, but I had never seen the show (and to this day, still have not) so I had no idea what it was!
