The floral emblem of Tasmania is the Tasmanian Blue Gum

It is a rather silly choice because one has to climb a very tall tree to pick its flowers.

Needless to say I don't have it growing in my garden.

I don't know what NJ's is off the top of my head, I'm sure I could look it, but I'm guessing it's just a withering flower of some sort covered in pollution.

I grew up in Ontario, where the official flower is the White Trillium. They're quite beautiful -- we used to have quite a lot of them growing in my dad's woods.

Where I am now in Quebec, it's the Blue Flag Iris. They changed it from the Madonna Lily in 1999 because the Madonna Lily's not actually native to the province.
