Push The Button

Commodore
Commodore
The Original Series featured thirteen female crewmembers that held the rating of Yeoman, many of whom distinguished themselves in the episodes they appeared in. Whether they were bringing a tray of food to Captain Kirk, coffee and sandwiches to the bridge, recording log entries and landing party proceedings, or even kicking some &^%* from time to time, we celebrate these often unsung heroes in this, my first ever Trek BBS poll.

There should be a scene in the next movie set before the Enterprise leaves on it's mission. Where a shuttle arrives and offloads a dozen new female crew. They report to their department head (Records Officer or Quartermaster). And he roll calls all of the above names. Plus a Nurse Chapel.

There were actually several listed in the poll I liked, but for pure beauty--and let's face it, GR put them there as eye candy--I have to go with Venita Wolf (Teresa Ross from "The Squire of Gothos").

Interestingly enough, I went to Trek Core to pull some info on this episode. The guest cast page for this episode lists its title as "The Square of Gothos."

Tonia Barrows for me. The most attractive in my book, and had a personality that would have made her a good regular.

Tamura.
It was so refreshing to see a female yeoman be put in charge of a security situation (by Spock no less). And she looked like no-one was going to stop her.
I thought both she and Spock did great.

When Tamura takes the sonic disruptor and strikes that pose at the door, the look she gives Mea says "If you make one move toward this door, I'll kick your ass."

My personal favorite is Janice Rand, but honorable mentions go to..

Yeoman Tamura, for standing shoulder to shoulder with Kirk, Spock and the male redshirts on Eminiar Seven

Martha Landon, for kicking Vaalian ass on Gamma Trianguli VI

Doris Atkins, for showing her loyalty by defending the elderly and senile Kirk at his competency hearing

I was quite fond of Yeoman Thompson.

As I've said in another threat, I thought the big flaw of "By Any Other Name" was having the Kelvan leader murder her and then have the episode say we're all friends at the end. :wtf:

Yes, that was a serious flaw in the story, and she deserved better than to have Kirk just write her off the way he did.

Trivia: Thompson was the first and only female redshirt (or reddress?) to die in the original series.

Woweeee she is just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. My second place getter behind the lovely Yeoman Colt.

FWIW, Rojan and his crew may have looked human, but they were truly non-humanoid aliens and would-be galactic conquerers, and Kirk had to talk them into giving him back control of his ship. He saw to it that the yeoman's life wasn't sacrificed in vain by ensuring the safety of our entire galaxy.
