You know, I really hate Kim Bauer

I'm watching through "Day 1" of 24, and GOD I keep forgeting how much I hate Kim!

Forget calling her Stupid Kim, call her Stupid SELFISH Kim.

Clear example of her stupidity: Latching on to one of the boys who KIDNAPPED her and delivered her into the hands of TERRORISTS and acts like he's a little, lost, puppy who just needs her wuv. :rolleyes:

And then a blatant example of her stupid bitchy selfishness, her and her mother have been rescued by Jack/CTU and delivered to a safehouse. She enters her mom's bathroom looking for toothpaste and stumbles upon a pregnancy test given to Teri at the hospital. What does she do? Instead of being happy and excited for her mom, discovering she has a new little one on the way, she gets all "Why didn't you and dad tell me you were trying to have a kid?!"

God, the terrorists should've put a bullet in her skull when they had the chance. It's a good thing Agent Cougar didn't eat her during Season 2 -where her antics somehow even get MORE stupid, as he probably would've contracted some brain-rotting disease from her.

KBD - Kim Bauer Disease.
 
My friends and I were all big fans of the show, right from the start.

We referred to her as "Dumbass Kim." It pretty summed her up. In fact, I can't even separate the name in my mind anymore. It's DumbassKim--one word.

Getting across LA in 3 minutes. OK. Jack going to into cardiac arrest and then jumping up and running away. I'll go with it. But KIM being a computer expert in a few short years? NEVER.
 
I was constantly cheering for the bad guys to kill his wife and daughter!! Easily two of, if not the, most annoying characters to ever grace episodic tv.
 
I'm always surprised by the hate people have for her. I never really loved her or hated her during the first season. She didn't annoy me though. I liked her character and I like when she shows up again in later seasons.

Yeah, Teri Bauer isn't much better ever. Her screeching when she's "yelling" annoys the hell out of me (like when the terrorists were hauling her into the Wa-Faux camp.)

But at least she wasn't brain-dead stupid like Kim.

"Mom, how could you guys not tell me you and dad were having sex and trying to have a kid! Ugh. That's so unfair!"

"Rick! You're smart. You shouldn't beat your self up! You're a cool guy who kidnapped me and delivered me to terrorists!"

^I think that her character was often realistic in those feelings though. I remember when I learned my parents were having a fourth child, I got upset and told them it wasn't fair, how could they do this to me. Yeah, Kim was sometimes self-centered, but that's what teenagers are.

I'd have to say they aren't even the worst 24 regulars. That honor currently goes to Edgar Stiles and Erin Driscoll.
 
I remember I enjoyed Season 1, and Season 2 started off good, but I soon lost interest after the bomb went off. And the Kim plotlines in Season 2 were terrible. "ooh some crazy guys locked me in his bunker! oooh I've been involved in a holdup! oooh, a cougar!"

When I heard she was part of CTU or something for Season 3 I said "no thanks" and didn't tune in anymore.
 
Before Elle screwed up Sylar, he had to work with Kim at CTU. So that would probably have to be his initial tipping point. :)
 
I always liked Stupid Kim, because I saw her (as I can imagine the writers did!) as comic relief. I mean really, Agent Cougar? The bomb shelter nutjob? The crazy daddy of the little girl? I was sad to see her go.
 
Crazy daddy who killed mom was probably Kim's best storyline (except for Jesse, who came in out of nowhere, had his leg amputated and left for Behrooz land). I was disappointed when crazy daddy didn't have a connection to the main plot though.
 
I think Jack somehow absorbed all the intelligence and sanity from the rest of his family, as they're all either batshit insane evil (Phillip, Graem), stupid morons (Kim), or walking Ken dolls (Graem's kid).

Teri - don't know much about her, it's been awhile. Although I gotta give props to she who is the *other* Kira's Mom. ;)
 
I've never hated the character like some. The problem with Kim Bauer is that the writers have given her too much screen time. She never belonged as a regular past the first season (I can buy most of the hijinks in season two, actually, which might have something to do with her being gone for four episodes near the end). Her role in season five was perfect, and I wouldn't mind if she had a small role like that again in season seven.

I don't mind Kim Bauer at all. Yes she is stupid but only in the sense that a lot of people on 24 have diminished intelligence so that Jack can look good.
