"Wunderbar!": 2000-2009 in movie quotes

Too Much Fun

Hopefully this thread will last a little longer than my attempted best movies of the 2000s thread. I was thinking of all the great movie quotes I've heard in new movies over the past nine years, and decided to start a thread where I could reminisce about some of my favourites and encourage others to do the same about theirs.

Several of my picks aren't all that impressive out of context, but were chosen mostly because they warm by nerdy, comic book movie-loving heart. A few were crowd-pleasing moments that just thrilled me, while others were lines that moved me with their insights and/or romanticism. I'll leave it to everyone else to tell which are which.

When I started out, I didn't plan to pick up one from every year between 2000 and 2009, but the list turned out that way (with the exception of 2009). See if you can do the same, but feel free not to (if there are too many of your favourites in one year, for example).

1. "You are what you love, not what loves you."
- Donald Kaufman, "Adaptation." (2002)

2. "God loves you just the way you are...but He loves you too much to let you stay that way."
- Ashley, "Junebug" (2005)

3. "Baby, you are gonna miss that plane."
- Celine, "Before Sunset" (2004)

4. "THIS IS...SPARTA!"
- King Leonidas, "300" (2006)

5. "He is the cheese to my macaroni."
- Juno McGuff, "Juno" (2007)

6. "Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?"
- Frank, "Donnie Darko" (2001)

7. "Is that what they say?"
- Magneto, "X2: X-Men United" (2003)

8. "I just don't want you to hate me."
- Randy 'The Ram' Robinson, "The Wrestler" (2008)

9. "People will die. I'm a man of my word...HAHAHAHA!"
- The Joker, "The Dark Knight" (2008)

10. "Wilson! I'm sorry."

- Chuck Noland, "Cast Away" (2000)

I didn't pick a line from 2009, but if I had to, I'd probably go with "Wunderbar!", "That's a bingo!", or "Bonjourno" from "Inglourious Basterds". :D About number 10: Wilson floating away just before that line and the line itself are the most simultaneously hilarious and heartbreaking things I've ever seen in a movie.

Just off the top of my head...

Faster, faster, faster would be better
Mal, Serenity (2005)

The entire movie gave us some great quotes, but I'm gonna go with that one.

Let's put a smile on that face!

"Love. You do all the math in the 'verse, but take a boat in the air you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the world. Love keeps her in the air when hse ought to fall down, tells you she's hurtin' before she keens, makes her a home."

"Y'all got on this boat for different reasons, but y'all are come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. 'Cause as sure as I know anything I know this: they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground, swept clean. A year from now, ten, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people ... better. And I do not hold to that. So, no more running. I aim to misbehave."

"Yes, I've read a poem -- try not to faint."

"You shot me! In the back! I haven't made you angry, now have I?"
Mal, "Serenity"

"Love, in point of fact."

"We're making them all ... better worlds."
The Operative, "Serenity"

"Two magazines, and my swingin' cod."
Jayne, "Serenity"

"Are you saying this is the last time I'm going to speak to my wife?"
Graham, , "Signs"

Wow, we sure have a lot of "Serenity" fans in here. :D Makes me really glad I just saw the movie for the first time very recently...it's still fresh in my mind. It's too bad it wasn't successful enough to bring forth a sequel, I imagine one might have come out right about now, or even before the end of the past decade. I would love to see those characters again. :(
