A sperm cell is potential life. An egg cell is potential life. A zygote is active life, cells dividing, growing into a fetus. What does parents evicting an unwanted renter have to do with this?
Well, wasn't this a train wreck of a thread. Before two people get smacked, I do want to take the time to compliment those who actually made a fair discussion out of a very difficult topic. Thanks. It's appreciated.
Now the bad news. I'll be warning both Ricky Spanish and Admiral Jean-Luc Picard; both will draw trolling warnings. Ricky for escalating a situation (please don't come upstairs to do that, don't like having to beat your ass), and in Picard's case, it is my belief that this thread was a trolling attempt. (Don't argue it with me as I'm not in the humor. Take the warning and be glad I don't eject you from the board.)
This is the SF&F forum, Picard. I know a movie was mentioned, however the intent was to whine about wokeness, DEI, gays, abortion and plenty of other hot-button issues. Now everyone around here know that these types of issues belong in TNZ, not SF&F. If you want to compare the latest Star Wars dreck, or extol the virtues of the latest Trek (or curse it if its not to your liking) or discuss any other SF movie, have at it.
Want to talk politics or other stuff? TNZ. You'll probably be handed your backside, but if you firmly believe something, you'll back it up and present your evidence.
Anyhow, that's the verdict now that I've waded through this. I'll do the warnings and I'll off to Guinan's for a Romulan Ale. Jolan Tru.
