Why are tele-Snaps for The Tenth Planet not on the BBC website?

Is it just cos there's only one missing and not "worth" putting up?

Anyone know where I can get a copy of them? I already have a scanned copy off the back of Nothing at the End of the Lane #2 (colourised) but was wondering if there were any higher rez images available.

Another thing, NATEOTL2 points out that 74 of the 108 missing episodes have telesnaps. Well I've counted up and only make it 72. Which two am I missing?

Marco Polo: 6
The Crusade: 2
The Savages: 4
The Smugglers: 4
The Tenth Planet: 1
The Power of the Daleks: 6
The Highlanders: 4
The Underwater Menace: 3
The Moonbase: 2
The Macra Terror: 4
The Faceless Ones: 4
The Evil of the Daleks: 6
The Abominable Snowmen: 5
The Ice Warriors: 2
The Enemy of the World: 4
The Web of Fear: 5
Fury from the Deep: 6
The Wheel in Space: 4

I don't *think* the Robert Jewell images for The Feast of Steven counted in that list.

Um... cheers for posting!

NATEOTL2 = Nothing at the End of the Lane issue 2. It was a magazine created by Richard Bignell and that-other-guy-whose-name-escapes-me regarding the missing episodes and BBC archive history. Issue two had an article on tele-snaps plus colourisations of The Tenth Planet 4 and an episode of The Savages.

Possibly. There was some talk a couple months ago that 2 Entertain might have the last episode animated a la The Invasion, so maybe they're holding off so they can have "brand new" Doctor Who to offer people when and if this comes to pass?

Have they always been up on the site and just taken down recently? Or have they always been missing? I can't remember!!

Only a theory, but if the telesnaps were put up while the VHS of Tenth Planet (which has a telesnap reconstruction of episode four on it) was still available, BBC Worldwide might have asked/told the website not to put the pics online.

As for the two episode discrepancy, I'd again guess that Nothing... was counting Feast of Stephen, and also one more Masterplan episode (there a very poor telesnap of the Dalek allies that appeared in DWM before episode two - and hence the only footage of them - was recovered, so at least one snap was taken from one other episode).

As far as I know there are no other tele-snaps from The Daleks' Master Plan aside from the Robert Jewell ones. I'm not sure which picture you're talking about of the delegates - the only ones I know about are the ones from Mission to the Unknown (which lead to a lot of confusion once DMP:2 was found, as it showed the delegates in the MTTU photo weren't the ones we thought they were!).

As to The Tenth Planet, I suspect the main reason the snaps aren't online is because the new series got in the way - suddenly the website is focussing more on the new series, and there's less interest in getting the tele-snaps online.

This one was definitelyfrom Masterplan, as it showed one of the delegates who doesn't appear in Mission, and as I say was very poor quality - definitely not a publicity photo. But it's too long ago for me to recall which issue it was in, I'm afraid
