...given the current level of technology at the time. I know that the producers introduced the Ori to give SG1 2 more seasons of having to start out and find tech to defeat them, but they fell in 3 years - it took 8 to get rid of the Gou'ald! I haven't included replicators, they're not sentient AFAIK, and they could probably whoop either side in any case.

The Ori fell more quickly because the SGC had developed the technology and the allies necessary to beat the Goa'uld.

If the Ori had appeared at the same time as the Goa'uld they would have wiped the Goa'uld out in a matter of months and Earth would have no chance of stopping them.

I voted for the Ori. They did beat them quicker but as Hermiod said at the start of SG1 we had no interstellar space ships or funky weapons given to us by little grey men. Plus the Goa'uld had a huge chunk of the galaxy under their control at the start with centuries of dominance over the area so kicking them out was more difficult. The Ori made great strides into our galaxy but they had a very small presence compared to the Goa'uld system lords at their height.

The Ori fell quickly because Orlin gave them the knowledge to build the Prior nullification device, and then Merlin popped up, and delivered the Super Walloping Ori Doombuster Gizmo of Death to them. ;)
