Who is being Erica's Magic Therapist really?

Being a fan of The Collector, Reaper and Joan of Arcadia, I got some dibs on Doctor Tom being God or the Devil, I'm reading a C.S Lewis novel the Scewtape Letters rght now about correspondence between a wise demon and his nephew about how to capture the souls of mortal humans, but beyond that I'm thinking that it's her dead brother from an alternate reality that they are building through all her historical meddling or it's Thomas Aquinas.

Who do you think he is?

What's really going on?

I don't know who he is but it looks like he's in some trouble. I just saw the season finale and it ended on a pretty good cliffhanger involving Dr. Tom. I wonder if next season will strip away some of the mystery. They already did a bit of that in the finale.

I've only seen what has aired in the U.S.. The latest episode had the doctor showing his violent side. Very unexpected...

That description would be of the final probably. Only 13 episodes in the season.

I was waiting for some huge giant mindfuck like when we first discovered that the Thunderbolts were really the Masters of Evil or that Julian Bashir had been replaced by a Changling half a season earlier.

I really miss Joan of Arcadia. I think that would have been one really cool third season.

There was another episode where he had one outburst. I'm wondering if he's referring to that.

We've only gotten up to episode 7 (Such a Perfect Day) in the U.S.. The magic therapist had an outburst when Erica tried to quit and leave his office.

I just watched the finale on CBC.ca, actually, thought it was a good way to end the season. I actually felt that the last few episodes were some of the stongest... some of the middle stretch spent too long bouncing around in the relationship stuff, I preferred seeing Erica learning things about herself.

As for what Dr. Tom is, no clue. All I know is I hope he's back before too long in S2, because he's the best part of the show.

It's hard to say what Dr. Tom is. Based on the fact that he's not the only mystical therapist out there it would seem that he is part of an organization which picks special people to help. Maybe he's some kind of angel. I'm really grasping at straws here.

At any rate, I look forward to the next season.

I just watched the season finale. Nice ending... The writers/actors/directors/producers definitely deserve kudos for a great first season.
