Where does that corridor (on the bridge) go?

Mr. Laser Beam

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
You know the one I mean. It's right next to Harry's station, between it and the big display in the middle of the bridge. (From Harry's POV, it's to his right.) Did they ever say where, specifically, that corridor goes? Have we ever seen anybody go into or out of it?

From here...It looks like it leads to what should be Chakotay's office , though the layout doesn't quite match what we saw in the few times we saw his office.

I found this picture on Pinterest.

The same picture is also available in the book The Star Trek Voyager Illustrated Handbook but unfortunately less information.

The Pinterest picture, probably taken from some magazine has more information about the doors leading to the bridge.

The one to the left on the picture, near the Science Station is obviously the door to captain Janeway's ready room.

The one in the middle of the picture is to the turbolifts, which we have seenn in may episodes.

Then we have the two doors to the left and right of Ops.

The one to the right (seen from the Captain's view) is obviously the door to the briefing room.

However, no information about the "door of interest", the one to the left of Ops (seen from the Captain's view) .

Logically, as Tuvok should say, it must be the door to Chakotay's office but I can't find no information available about it.

There's a detailed drawing of Chakotay's office in The Star Trek Voyager Illustrated Handbook But no information about where it's located in relation to the bridge.

I distinctly remember it being used by Chakotay in one episode where he's got Janeway kidnapped or pretending to, and it lead to the regular corridor set which is totally impossible.

But this is the same show where the Delta Flyer began as one cockpit, then spawned a back room that was a bit too big then spawned a whole Jeffries Tube which us completely insane as well as 2 escape pods.:shrug:

Yeah, I think that was S7's "Shattered." And the corridor as shown in that ep didn't bother me; I thought it worked pretty well. The blueprints are also fairly plausible, as the exterior of the ship clearly shows more to Deck 1 than just the bridge, ready room and briefing room.

When I look at this drawing, I get the impression that the Mess Hall is on Deck 1, to the left of the captain's ready room, marked with the word MESS on the drawing above.

But according to the Star Trek Voyager Illustrated Handbook, the Mess Hall was located on Deck 2.

And when I watch the series, I get the impression that the mess hall wasn't located on Deck 1 or anyway near the bridge.

As for the mysterious door near Kim's Ops station, it's oviously leading to the HEAD which is actually the toilet!

Which is actually quite possible, not to mention practical. Even the bridge crew needs to pee from time to time.

But where in the world (or on USS Voyager) is Chakotay's office located then? Neither the drawing above or the Star Trek Voyager Illustrated Handbook gives any clear information about that.

There are five possible options when it comes to all this:

1. The drawing above is inacurrate
2. The information in the Star Trek Voyager Illustrated Handbook is inaccurate.
3. The ship was rebuilt several times by the Torpedo and Shuttle Building Team during the journey. which makes some blueprints inacurrate
4. All this confusion is caused by the aliens in the episode Twisted who turned the whole ship inside-out.
5. We are all hopeles nit-pickers who are obsessed with details.
Well, at least I'm a hopeles nit-picker obsessed with details as many of you must have realized.

The mess hall where Neelix set up shop is unquestionably on Deck Two per the series; there must be 50+ references to it in canon dialogue. Good enough for me. ;)

I like the smaller, less scenic Deck One mess on the prints because it makes sense. The folks working on the bridge presumably took breaks and needed some chow from time to time, and they didn't need to visit a separate deck for that. Staying on Deck One kept them closer to their posts and away from a more social atmosphere in the main mess hall while they were on duty in the vessel's command center. Also, it's entirely possible that Janeway ordered the areas aft of the bridge converted into something else across the seven-year journey.

That head looks well iffy to me. 2 toilets but only 1 sink? And is that a sonic shower?
Sternbach intended that the Voyager bridge wasn't just modular, but could be ejected as a lifeboat and fly independently. In that case, I'd expect it to have a few fewer amenities and some more mechanical spaces, and some emergency supplies/accommodations. The shower is a nice start, but it'd need some kind of generator or battery and replicator matter storage. Bunks or cots could be tucked away anywhere. You could probably get rid of the science lab and the First Officer's(?) office in the fan-schematic and get all the room you need. Or maybe you could just cram it inside some of the thicker walls, like behind the Ready Room and Conference lounge. You could also put some stuff in the narrow room next to the escape pods.

that deck one mess makes sense. Know how random crew show up out of no where to take over stations when the main crew runs off for an emergency? They probably hang out there all shift to be available at a moments notice

But having a mess on Deck 1 would have hurt Neelix's feelings! ;)

No, honestly, it's a good idea because it could be great for anyone on the bridge to sneak out and have a cup of coffee or a sandwich for five minutes or so.

Zactly! Very good idea. And Neelix already took over Janeway's private dining area (sort of elitist and I'm glad the writers did that BTW), so he's fine screwing up dishes down one deck.

This isn't official, but fan made.
If I recall correctly, someone from behind the scenes ones mentioned it was a corridor that led to Deck 2. But I could be misremembering that.

And where the Hydroponics bay which was supposed to be used to grow vegetables for over 150 people was just a small room with a few boxes of dirt and flowers.

That might be just how the sets were set up in the soundstage. I saw the plans for the TNG set somewhere, I think, and it looked weird with the quarters, ten forward, sick bay and the bridge all connected up...
Behind it may have been the mess hall.....

The huge windows on Voyager's messhall do not line up with anything on the back of the bridge module.
