When did Crusher get The Carrington Award?

In the opening shot of Picard S3E1, we see Beverly's quarters on the Eleos and all her little trinkets...one of which is The Carrington Award. Which, according to Memory Alpha/Beta, is "a prestigious honor in the field of medicine, awarded annually by the Federation Medical Council. It was awarded to one of five nominees, and was generally regarded as a lifetime achievement award."

A Facebook post only mentions that it was awarded for her "years of service" but doesn't give any indication as to when she received it. It's in her quarters in 2401, and presumably she's been out of Starfleet at least 20 years by that point. I've been trying to figure out when she got it and wondering if anyone else noticed it.

While Lower Decks makes it seem like the kind of stuff every starship faces multiple times, she did save the crew on several occasions and played a part in saving the entire Federation when the Borg invaded.

And I say that as someone far from her biggest fan.

I was thinking maybe her research was somehow more important than we ever got to see and that was also part of it, but I just can't figure out the timing! Like when did this happen!?

I mean, true, she was always...busy...so maybe she didn't schlep to the ceremony and just subspace called in an acceptance speech lol

That's everything I can't to expect of that show. Look we referenced something you've seen before aren't we clever!

I suppose you could receive it honorarily if the doctor who won gave you credit for helping with their work - like if you were the poor patient whose condition led to the discoveries you made, or were a very helpful assistant in a pinch.

Apparently, the graphic artist just grabbed names off of Memory Alpha's "list of awards" to populate Pike's record. Pike also got the (Cardassian) Legate's Crest of Honor and Proficient Service Medallion. Number One did, too, in an apparent reuse of Pike's record.

At least the latter doesn't specify a rank Starfleet doesn't use - use of the same name could imply that's how it translates into Federation Standard, that's all.
