What's your fav Harrison Ford movie...

Kirkman1987

Commodore
Commodore
.......Indy, Star Wars, and Blade Runner not included?

not doing a poll on this one, as I'm sure I've leave out someone's fav.

And one more quick thing.....Pick a film STARRING Harrison Ford. Apocalypse Now or American Grafitti doesn't really count IMO.

As for me, I have to go with either Air Force One or Witness. Air Force One was a bit of a Die Hard clone, but it was the BEST Die Hard clone. really great action in this one and "Get off my plane!" is classic. Easily the best of Harrison Ford's "You took my wife!" movies.

as for Witness, it was nominated for best picture, and I can see why. it's pretty touching. I've always been found of the non violent message. the way the action scenes are without a underscore most of the time, and the last bad guy isn't blown away, but reasoned with. great movie.

As for the other stuff, his two jack ryan films are good, but nothing spectacular. The Fugitive is great, I'm sure it will get some votes. his other thrillers are average. Firewall wasn't half bad, decent popcorn flick.

what do you guys think?

Probably also Witness. Pretty good film and Ford's performance is quite good as well.

I love most of his movies.. witness is awesome.. Air force one is a guilty pleasure movie..

But i would like to remind people of a absolutly wonderful movie he has made:
"Regarding Henry". It is one of my favorite movies of all times.

Re: What's your favorite Harrison Ford movie...

What's your favorite Harrison Ford movie...?
Blade Runner.

.......Indy, Star Wars, and Blade Runner not included?
Oh...then...Apocalypse Now.

And one more quick thing.....Pick a film STARRING Harrison Ford. Apocalypse Now
Damnit. Then American Graffiti.

or American Grafitti doesn't really count IMO.
Well, shit man. You knocked out all of the good ones.

Fine. The Fugitive gets my vote. But only because I was strong-armed into it. :p

Its between The Fugitive and Witness. Haven't seen either for a long time. I'd say that Witness is the better movie overall, but the Fugitive is a good popcorn movie - almost certainly Harry's last must-see.

When you omit the SW and Indy movies and Blade Runner, his CV isn't that hot, really. As the OP said, American Graffiti and Apocalypse Now aren't really Harrison Ford movies. Presumed Innocent is a good legal thriller and Air Force One a reasonably good Die Hard clone but compared to the body of work that say George Clooney or even Bruce Willis have built up in much shorter careers, it's patchy. Can't imagine too many votes for Random Hearts, Sabrina or Hollywood Homicide coming up ...

Eliminating all of the ones in the OP, I'd have to go with "Regarding Henry" for dramatic work and "Air Force One" for action/cheese.

Since the original poster forgot to eliminate The Conversation from the list, it gets my vote. Outstanding film that set the standard for sound design and mixing in American cinema... not that anyone cares about that.

As for movies that could be considered "Harrison Ford movies," I guess my vote would have to be for The Fugitive. It's a popcorn move, sure, but it's a fun, smart, dramatic popcorn movie with a ton of wonderful supporting characters.

been meaning to see Regarding Henry for awhile now, just hasn't been a priority. as for The Conversation, I was unfamiliar with it. looks like it's worth checking out:)

One things for sure, the Harrison Ford "Finger point" is classic:lol:

Witness & Mosquito Coast. Both impress the heck out of me.

Hey...no love for The Frisco Kid?

The Fugitive.

Just an awesome thriller that really showed Ford at his best. That and I also like Tommy Lee Jones and this was probably his best role too.

Witness 2: The Amish Fight Back

In it, we find out that Viggo Mortensen's character in Eastern Promises is actually his same character from Witness. :)

Speaking of The Fugitive, did anyone hear about the rumor of a third movie if U.S. Marshals had been a success? Supposedly, Gerrard would be framed for a crime he didn't commit and he'd go to Kimble for help.

Witness or The Fugitive, though Tommy Lee Jones made the latter more his movie.

The Mosquito Coast is another good one, though I'm not sure it ranks up there with my favorites. But it was a lot different role for him than I'm used to.

I think Force 10 From Navarone gets overlooked as a good Ford film. I'm tossing that one into the discussion. Its in my top 5 fav films once you omit the OP selected movies.

What Lies Beneath is a great film as a movie, like Mosquito Coast or Regarding Henry, where he plays against type.

My pick would have to be Fugitive though.

The Fugitive, easily. He and Tommy Lee Jones were both great in that movie.

In addition to the Star Wars & Indiana Jones DVDs, I also have The Fugitive, Witness (special collector's edition), Blade Runner (the four-disc set) and Working Girl on DVD. That last one, though, is mostly 'cause of Sigourney Weaver.

Air Force One, The Fugitive, and Sabrina get my votes.

You know, I almost forgot about Sabrina. I really enjoyed that remake, and I sure didn't expect to. Filling Bogart's shoes is no easy task for any actor.

But, I think he was very well cast in that. He did a great job. :techman:

Favorite movie where Ford's performance makes the movie?
Mosquito Coast

Favorite movie that Ford was in and did a good job but his role wasn't the heart of the movie?
Raiders of the Lost Ark and Blade Runner

Favorite movie that Ford was in and did okay?
Star Wars

It may be heresy but he wasn't that great in Star Wars movies.
