What is the best pairing involving B'elanna Torres?

I have made a thread about what would be the best pairing involving Kes. It got somewhat off the rails (and oveshadowed) by the issue of Kes' age, but I consider it a success. So, I decided to make a similar thread, but about B'Elanna Torres. And yes, I know she canonically married Tom and I consider it one of better things about Voyager, but I would like to explore alternatives (especilly if Tom is paired up with someone else and B'Elanna didn't die for that to happen, so not like "Before and After".

Yeah and even if it wasn't romantic I think it could have been a good friendship, like the innocent one and the cynical one sparring but also working together Maybe a bit like Bashir/Kira. They only had a couple of scenes in "Caretaker" but I remember thinking that was how it was going to go forward. What if Harry had worked with B'Elanna in "Prime Factor" or been used by her?
Otherwise they could have gone B'Elanna/Chakotay, which I think they teased once.
Like I said in the other thread, I prefer strong friendships over romance any day of the week.
