What happened to Star Trek Magazine

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere - I did do a search but couldn't find anything.

Has Star Trek Magazine stopped existing? I recently realised that my local library's online selection includes Star Trek Magazine, but I noticed the most recent issue is from February. It was a little sporadic before that, but now I notice that the Twitter account hasn't been updated since February, with an announcement of issue #79 being on sale. They retweeted the TrekCore announcement of the March/April edition's cover back in December, but I can find no sign of that issue having been published.

Yes I've been wondering about why we haven't had any new Star Trek magazines for months.:vulcan: They have alot of Star Wars magazines and Doctor who but no new Star Trek content at all.

I emailed titan and this is what I got back:

Hello Star Trek Fan -

We are in the process of planning a re-launch of Star Trek Magazine. An official announcement will be going out in the next couple of weeks detailing the exciting news and new schedule. Issue 79 was the last issue published. Thank you for your patience.

Since the initial question has been answered, I wanted to ask a tangentially related question. Is there a good source to find the similarly titled Star Trek: The Magazine back issues? Of course, eBay has various issues, but I am open to hearing about other sources or even the possibility of digital access.

Buying digital issues is relatively easy, I personally use Zinio since their service is cross platform. As for physical issues, you can order any magazine from their backlog here if youre in the United States. I believe you can place UK back log orders here.

We are talking about different publications. Your information is excellent for getting Star Trek Magazine. I am in search of issues from 1999-2003 of Star Trek: The Magazine. I had the issue with the Borg Queen on the cover during Voyager's run, and I thought it was an outstanding magazine. If I had known it would only run for 48 issues, I may have subscribed or bought them as they came out.

Oh I apologize then! I misread your initial post and didnt process the "similarly titled" part.

Hey all,

Star Wars Insider Magazine went dark during COVID in 2020 from March to September of 2020 before we saw a new issue. It also underwent format changes too in January 2021 for the launch of the HIGH REPUBLIC.

So probably following the same thinking, it will probably be August or September hopefully before we get a new issue. I think it might concide with CODA too? I think Titan owns both?

Hope this helps,
-Koric

No, Titan used to reprint the Pocket Books novels in the UK, but that ended back in the early 90s. No connection now.

That's kind of poetic.
There were 120-odd issues published before then, of course. Bloody Colonials. ;)
