What does Quark Serve in his bar?

Tyjos Azari

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
I seem to remember people ordering almost anything there.

I guess it'd be the limit of what his food replicators could produce.

But he also seemed to have a good supply of other things like beverages. I think he had a supply of Kanar always kept in his stock room.

Not sure what else he might have I know he had some Gemstones that he said he "Acquired" from a creature called Morn that he tried to sell to Harry Kim.

I just always found this a interesting subject.

You go to quarks for the food or the company though? I'm sure it'd be a fun place to be.

I wish I could recall the name of the drink I had there. It was in a big round glass (almost like a small fishbowl), was green, and smoked. It wasn't weak either. Two of those and I was good to go. I hate that I've forgotten the name of it. :(

edit: I should clarify that I was referring to the Quark's Bar at the ST Experience in Vegas.

Didn't O'Brien order a bunch of heavy, Irish food there? Besides his usual pint of beer.

I know he ordered a bunch of stuff during Worf's break on "the path to Kal'Hiya" or whatever it was... Worf's bachelor party. Nog was eating pancakes at one point.

Though I loved where Quark Stopped Bashir and O'brien from smashing the glasses when they stopped in when they took a break from The Battle of Britain.

Still, You just got to wonder about what he serves there. What's on the menu, I guess anything you want he can get for a price.

I'd guess he'd sell just about anything the replicator was able to produce, if it's as easy as downloading a recipe for the item. Anything "real" like a particular vintage of alcohol or a food stuff people preferred fresh (like yamak sauce apparently) that he could sell at a premium price would be ordered in and kept in storage.

This is why places like the Klingon Restaraunt and Sisko's exist, you can't recreate live gagh and replicated blood wine is only for a petaQ!

Quark is a businessman, so he sells what's in demand. He kept kanar in his storeroom since DS9 was next door to Cardassian space.

I think when you go to Quark's and pay for food, you're really paying for the company and the atmosphere. Otherwise you could just go to the replimat right? Sure, Quark may be able to mix some drinks that the replicator can't create, plus they'd probably taste better. But he just replicates most food stuffs. Is his replicator any different than the replimats?

Well, Chad, DS9 novel #6 (Betrayal, by Lois Tilton...go get the eBook now!), from way back in the day of the numbered novels, suggested that Quark had a different food synthesizer--a replicator specifically made to create food in particular, and not just small items. And once a skilled engineer got hold of it and made some repairs, it produced food with greater verisimilitude than the Replimat replicators did. That was never established in canon, but I personally tend to think something along those lines is correct.

I also, would tend to agree with you and Betrayal. The "Atmosphere" only goes so far. If Quark's was to be truly a compelling place to go it would have to separate itself from the Replimat in many ways (company, food, drink, entertainment, etc). Thanks for the input (and the recommendation!)

You're very welcome! Though you may want to slug Quark for some of the circumstances surrounding that synthesizer...and no, I won't spoil any more. ;)

I had something similar when I was there during Spring Break a while back called a Warp Core Breach. I'm not sure if that's what you had but it sounds like it.
