What a ride?

Final two episodes were great. I noticed things this time around that I didn't notice before when I watched it on previous occasions. Perhaps I wasn't paying as much attention.

Do they ever catch the crooked security guys who helped put Garibaldi in the sick bay?

What exactly was Delenn asking Kosh abd why did he open his encounter suit?

I can't wait to start season 2.

Boy you're in for a ride. Season 1 is considered the weakest yet it lays the groundwork for what's to come.

One of my favorite shows.
You are in for a fun ride with the rest of the seasons.

A good podcast for you would be the "Grey 17" podcast. The have spoiler free reviews with old time fans and newbies. And much like B5 the first season is a little rough but gets much better in seasons 2-5.

Yep, S1 plants a ton of seeds that suddenly blossom over the next four (yes, even the much-maligned S5).

I don't really "enjoy" S1 per se except with certain episodes, but I appreciate what it's doing.

There was only one security guy involved, and they do "catch" him, in a sense.

What Delenn asked Kosh is, IIRC, revealed in flashback, but I'll tell you the question if you want to know.

I've watched the show before do i don't mind being spoiled. It's just this particular time around some things are sticking out to me more.

One of the funniest scenes for me was the creature in the fake Kosh suit talking

I do love how they went to the trouble to make a shitty Kosh suit knock-off for that episode instead of just using the real one as the fake. Especially in HD, you can really appreciate how it’s noticeably crappier than everything else on the show.

Now that you mention it I find that a bit odd. They had the actual costume for actual Kosh so why not use that as the fake?

Because it's a fake, made by a third-rate extortionist. It also wasn't really supposed to be a surprise that it wasn't really Kosh. While the script doesn't mention the lackluster quality of the suit, we find out that it's actually an alien from Centauri space fairly quickly, and script does note that it doesn't sound like Kosh, so I suppose the director thought that little extra bit of verisimilitude from making a fake suit rather than using the normal one would be good. Plus, it wouldn't be that hard. The head, shoulders, and stained-glass frontpiece seemed to be bad casts from the molds used to make the real costume, and the other parts were replaced with stock fabrics B5 used a lot for, as near as I can tell, Minbari costumes (a leaf pattern, and a checkered pattern popular with Ranger outfits).

The script does reveal that the Ombuds got his name to set up a "Beef Wellington" joke from Deuce that thankfully ended up on the cutting room floor.

That's cool....... It's fun to learn these details. I love that the Nakaleen Feeders can talk and are not just dumb creatures. I wonder why Londo and his people fear them that much, felt like a back story there somewhere that could have been fun to explore. BTW was it ever explained why Centauri have vampire teeth?

I've always enjoyed all five seasons of the show. Sure, it had its weak episodes. But I really enjoyed it overall. And that included Season One, which I believe did its job - laying the groundwork for the rest of the series' run.

I love this show. When I was laid off for the second time in 5 years (what seems like yesterday but is actually more years ago than I remembered, I decided to rewatch and binge many scifi series starting with Babylon 5. I looked up the viewing order for everything and watched it all (series and movies) in JMS order (including the spinoff Crusade). I would read JMS’ comments on everything but only that for which I had already watched. He was quite chatty about everything, did none of that double ‘splaining (like we are so used to about things in ST) but instead was just direct and truthful about it all.

I had a blast rewatching all of it and even cried at one point (won’t say where). Lovely, lovely show.

Then I read all the books. I really like the technomages.

The question was, "Have the Shadows returned to Z'ha'dum?", and I think it was shown in flashback in either "Revelations" or "In the Shadow of Z'ha'dum".

Ah, that makes sense apart from Kosh having to open his suit....... Or did he flash her :D
I had to do a bit of research myself, but you're kind of conflating two separate but related things.

First, Delenn sends Lennier to ask Kosh whether the Shadows have returned, and Kosh affirms to Lennier that they have.

When Lennier reports that to Delenn she goes to see Kosh personally, at which point he "reveals himself" to her, which is apparently the final reassurace she needs to go through with her transformation.

I couldn't find anything to indicate that Delenn asks Kosh any particular questions of note when she sees him directly. She probably just asked him for reassurance that she was doing the right thing, to which he popped his top.

That actually makes sense regarding Kosh and Delenn.

One thing that I always think about despite watching the show before a few times is Clark and Psi Corp. I keep thinking that off screen both parties had contact with the shadows sometime prior to season 2

I'd be curious to know when the Shadows made first contact with Clark for sure. I'm assuming Morden approached him as he did the B5 ambassadors. We know Clark and Morden will be in contact, at any rate.

Productions often make multiple copies of a costume of this sort, e.g. a "beauty" suit for closeups and a cruder version for long shots, especially if they have any working mechanical or electronic parts. And it seems likely that they would've built prototypes of such a complex costume/prop before settling on the final version. So they could've adapted a leftover prototype or a less detailed "stunt" suit to represent the knockoff suit.

BTW was it ever explained why Centauri have vampire teeth?

Why do Vulcans have pointed ears? They wanted something to make the Centauri look slightly inhuman.

Every time I rewatch B5 I think, I should skip season 1.
Then I am reminded of what is being set up. Watch season 1.
