We need more songs about cannibalism

Bad Bishop

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
I came across this little gem from 1971. It's "Timothy" by The Buoys (no, never heard of them before either).

Lyrics:

Trapped in a mine that had caved in
And everyone knows the only ones left
Were Joe and me and Tim
When they broke through to pull us free
The only ones left to tell the tale
Were Joe and me

Timothy, Timothy, where on earth did you go?
Timothy, Timothy, God why don't I know?

Hungry as hell no food to eat
And Joe said that he would sell his soul
For just a piece of meat
Water enough to drink for two
And Joe said to me, "I'll have a swig
And then there's some for you."

Timothy, Timothy, Joe was looking at you
Timothy, Timothy, God what did we do?

I must have blacked out just around then
'Cause the very next thing that I could see
Was the light of the day again
My stomach was full as it could be
And nobody ever got around
To finding Timothy
Timothy...

It's pretty catchy. Web sources say it was written by Rupert Holmes, years before "The Pina Colada Song."

The only other song about cannibalism is "I Eat Cannibals" by Total Coelo (1983). Why isn't this theme more popular?

^ Not sure, I believe so. There is the group called "Fine Young Cannibals" from the 80's. Even in High Schools, in the late 80's I always thought the Fine Young Cannibal's lead singer, Roland Gift, looks kinda like a penis. :)

Sung to Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Stir, stir, stir the soup
Taste it with a spoon
Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy
Hope she'll be done soon.

Sniff, sniff, sniff the meat
Salt it like you should
Tasty, tasty, tasty, tasty
Humans taste so good.

Slurp, slurp, slurp it down
Never get enough
Hope we trap more humans soon
We're crazy 'bout this stuff.

Whew, phew, burp, I'm full
Think I'm going to pop
Phooey, phooey, phooey, phooey
Guess I'll have to stop.

Gosh, darn, golly gee
Wish it wasn't so
Oh, well, what the heck
Pass me one more toe.

From Songs by Tom Lehrer (1952)

"My Home Town":

...I remember Dan
The druggist on the corner
He was never mean or orner-y
He was swell.
He killed his mother-in-law and chopped her up real well
And sprinkled just a bit
Over each banana split...

Not to mention "I Hold Your Hand in Mine" from the same album. You gotta love the early 1950s through early '60s for "sick" humor.

Not quite about cannibalism...

Tom Lehrer's I hold your Hand in Mine

I hold your hand in mine, dear,
I press it to my lips.
I take a healthy bite
From your dainty fingertips.

My joy would be complete, dear,
If you were only here,
But still I keep your hand
As a precious souvenir.

The night you died I cut it off,
I really don't know why.
For now each time I kiss it
I get bloodstains on my tie.

I'm sorry now I killed you,
For our love was something fine,
And till they come to get me
I shall hold your hand in mine.

Mein Teil by rammstein is about that guy that put in a gay personal ad looking for a guy to butcher and eat

(singing) "I got a big bag of fingers, I'm gonna put them in my mouth oh yes"
