Walter Koenig is really, REALLY short!

He just did a walk-on on E!'s "The Soup" (okay it aired on Friday night but I'm just getting around to seeing it), and I THINK Joel McHale (the host) is around 6ft tall, which makes Chekov/Bester look like he's around 5'2" at the most!

I had no idea he was so...diminutive.

He's actually about 5'6". I'm 5'7" and just a smidge taller than he is when standing next to him (which I've done often enough).

McHale must be closer to 6'4" or so then...I hadn't heard he was almost CONAN tall! Walter looked like a teeny-tiny man next to him ("Don't call me 'tiny'" as George once said. ).

He's still taller than Tobey Maguire.

I stood next to him when I was an extra in Spider-Man back in March 2001.

I stand at 5 feet 9 inches, and Tobey was 5 feet 5 inches at the most.

I think TV cameras get at the actor's height and you don't realize their true scale. In fact, it could be exploited more by directors to show the really big Klingons and warrior races--be more willing to show the height differences.

According to his IMDb bio page, he is 6'4", which is tall, but not unusually so.

McHale is tall, one fo the running gags on that show is how much taller he is than yan Seacrest. Tey showed a video from the Red Carpet at the Emmys a couple of years ago where they were both there and Seacrest had to stand on a box or something to not have the visual appearance of inferiority.

Ronnie James Dio is short, he said; It's not how big your pencil is, it's how big you write your name. Dunno how right he is, but there it is. Tallness was never much a relevance factor to me for actors.

He came to Utah for a small convention after he had heart surgery & spent a lot of time with the crowd answering questions & telling stories.A nice guy.

I'm only three or four inches taller than Koenig, and I used to be considered fairly tall by many of my friends and family. I think Joel McHale is just REALLY tall.

I've stood next to Koenig and he's right around my height, plus or minus an inch. I'm a shade over 5-6.

At least he gets tons of applause and people seem to like him. Not all old-school TV and movie character actors whose heydays are long past get that much affection. Most people genuinely seem to dig Koenig.
