Visiting LA and Vegas in October

Hey TBBS!

I call upon you for help and advice (god have mercy on my soul!)

I am heading over stateside in October for When We Were Young (music festival - pop punk and emo bands from the early 00s...if by chance anyone here is going let me know) and will have 3 days in LA and 2 in Vegas (excluding the day of the festival).

Looking for advice re: transport (is it worth renting a car (Greyhound looks pricey) or would trains do it from LA to LV?); places to go and see (obviously need to hit Griffith Observatory), things to do, places not to go etc etc

This is a bit open ended I appreciate but that is more to not limit or direct you guys advice - don't worry about what I may or may not like, I want all the damn options!

I would rent a car. It's going to get pricey doing buses and Ubers all week.

I'm gonna give you a tip I got from a LA native a long time ago....go to San Diego instead
