USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-G MSD

SuricataFX

Lieutenant Junior Grade
Red Shirt
Hey all, I'm happy to be able to share my latest MSD which I finally finished this week: The USS Enterprise-G!

I used the base images of the turbo lift diagram from the show, as well as production notes and set plans to make sure she is as accurate as possible. I also used blue prints of the Luna class USS Titan to help place some elements as well, to give a slight crossover of the 2 ships.

I tried a few different techniques on this MSD to, such as ship outline shading, so that it feels more inline with the 3d graphics used on the show, as opposed to the more flat MSD's from previous shows.

Whoa, this is frickin’ fantastic! Very well done! Looks legitimately like something they could have had on the show. And I love the eastereggs I was able to find, like the DeLorean and the BSG Raptor. Sweet!

Oh, and having Cetacean Ops immediately underneath hydroponics bay is a neat idea. Is that original to your design or did you see that somewhere else before?

Original idea, it just made sense that the arboretum would also have water in it for certain plants and that the habitants of cetacean ops would appreciate a nice natural view with vegetation above them, instead of a metallic ceiling!

BSG Raptor, Nomad, Delorean (for those plots involving times travel?), large duck, and MSD recursion in engineering!

I like the idea of the arboretum above cetacean ops, but where do the roots go?

This is wonderful! I really like the outline/hull contour shading and the red outline - it looks amazing! And it's nice to see a Sphinx workpod, too.
I spy a Xindi Aquatic and Badgey! And is stellar cartography based on Cerebro or am I reading too much into it?

Edit: Ah, pipped to the post by @Michael :D

I found the bowling alley near the front of the saucer, but the Tucker Tubes are eluding me. And there are a couple of things which remind me of the teleportation pods from The Fly - one pair in the saucer, the other pair in the engineering hull. I wonder what they are?
Oh, and a miniscule MSD in engineering! Is it this one?

What's the big thing in the middle of the saucer? I see the computer core in red to its right, so it's not that.

It's an element that first appeared on the Enterprise MSD in Star Trek: First Contact and was also on the TOS Enterprise MSD in Enterprise: Mirror Darkly. In cross sections it's usually labeled as the 'Main Data Core', not sure how that relates to computer functions in a few hundred years mind! Either way, I like how it looks, so I like to include it in my MSD's

Is that a shout-out to the aft section of the TOS Connie's warp nacelles embedded in the aft part of the 1701G's nacelles? If so.... nice.

I also like the deck count being consistent with the scale of the ship - yeah, that saucer section would be 3 decks deep if the ship is 526m long. Now we just need the ship exterior to be modelled with windows at the appropriate scale instead of as if the ship was the same size as the 23rd century Constitution refit.
