Toy Story 3: The Video Game

This is a great game. My son and I play it together, and we both enjoy it a whole lot. It has two sections, one is the story mode, which basically follows the plot of the movie, and is what you'd expect from a movie based game, but with exceptional graphics. It's very well done, much better than some other movie based games I've played. From what I've read, the game developers have been working with Pixar from the very beginning of the movie's development, almost 4 years, so they've had time to get it right. The second part of the game is an open world toy box. You start off in a western town, and you can just roam around, or you can do missions to buy new toys, new buildings ect. You can customize all the houses, all the town folk... it's kind of a Red Dead Redemption for the younger crowd. It's really a lot of fun, and two players can play both sections of the game. Another great feature, the game engine can tell the skill of the player, and it adjust accordingly. If my son is having trouble with a certain section, the game notices, and it makes it easier for him, very nice for easily frustrated kids. Just a top notch effort. I highly recommend it for kids and parents alike. :techman:

mr trampledamage is playing it with the kids right now :)

He says the story parts are really hard (and he's a gamer!) so the kids watch him do that bit, but they love the Toy Box.

I know what you mean! Buzz's video game is as far as I've gotten so far, and it was tough!

Let me know if you can find the "suburb" well in the toy box challenge.. Kail Jr and I have been looking all day for it!

Have fun!

It means it's a spam-bot - hang on while I notify :)

I don't think we've found the suburb area in the Toy Box - mr trampledamage has been playing the story game, and is right now, just trying to calm down after the Bonnie's House episode - boy is that hard!

We found it. At some point you have to blow up a dam, and what's left becomes the suburbs. We've gotten through Bonnie's house, and yes, it was tough! One thing I do not like about this game is, in really long levels, like Bonnie's house, if you do not complete the level all the way, if you stop, you have to start again from the very beginning. We found this out the hard way, we spent two hours on the Bonnie level, her house, the rocket, the rails, and then we tried to save and got sent all the way back to the start. Kail was crushed! But we got it the next day. Still a lot of fun though. We just completed the prison break level in game mode. Cheers!

I had a great big plan to buy a video game and play it on one of my days off this week. It might have to be this game.

It is a brilliant game - and not just for kids. mr trampledamage has set up his own save game so he can obsessively find every little thing without annoying the kids too much.

Although if you care about spoilers, see the movie first :techman:

I just saw it last night, which is why I want start playing the game! I'm getting misty-eyed just thinking about the movie.

You'll love the game then! It features loads of the characters - and where they don't have the original voices, they've done a good job hiring people who sound right and can act.

btw - I love your avatar

All right, cool. I ended up spending my entire day taking a series of naps, so I didn't get around to buying the game. I've got tomorrow off as well, so maybe I will do it then.

Best Buy didn't have it! Booooooooo!

They had it for the PSP, but that's all. I am very disappointed right now.
