Hirogen, Borg and Jem'Hadaar seem to be some of the toughest species in Trek galaxy in terms of physical strength for example.
At least to my knowledge.

I vote Gorn. Most of those races have been shown getting their butts kicked in hand-to-hand combat by humans. When Kirk fought the Gorn captain mano a mano, it was pretty damn clear that he wouldn't even be able to hurt it.

I am going with the Orions. In Borderland, T'Pol couldn't offer any reisistance at all and she is Vulcan and has several times the strength of a human. She did have some success with a blow to the gonads, but that is a weak spot all humanoid males would share.

not everyone keeps their genitals in the same place...

heh, that made me think of an alien from one of the MIB movies. A ballchinian or something like that.

I went with the Orions. I just saw Borderland for the first time. It was clear they physically dominated all the species that were in the slave prison, including Vulcans. The fact that the designers went out and got just about one of the largest humans possible for the role of an Orion says something for what was trying to be portrayed and I think every actor they used for Orions was 6'6" or taller, which shows the effort to portray them as super sized humanoids.

I've watch a movie this weekend and I'm 100% convinced the toughest species in the universe is the Emperor Penguin

I don't care what kind of biceps or muscles the Hirogen or BigShow's have. These guys if forced to walk through Antarctica's sub zero temperatures, they would all be crying for their mommys like little girls

Hirogen.

Kilingons are battle ready but not as tough and big as Hirogen.

Jem'Hadar maybe grown for battle but are never as tough as the Hirogen.

The Borg... Not Tough.. the Borg are more like a Macroscopic Virus... spreading out over the galaxy.. their drones aren't tough... unless they are Hirogen :)

I went for Remans.

I know we've only seen them once, but they seemed pretty evil.

the Vulcans. they've got self-healing abilities, high intelligence, and live long enough to see a lot of those species kick the bucket thrice over.

My choice was not in the list, but if you include brains and brute strength I'd choose Humans. We as a race are very fast to adapt to a situation and can handle a wider range of environments than some aliens.

It is this adaptability that lifted us to top primate.

Orions are the largest and strongest of the species above and would probably win in a brawl setting but Hirogen or Gorn are really strong and the deadliest for their abilities of stealth and hunt.

humans are clearly the toughest, because they've beaten up all of those species...

often with two-fisted club-punches...

:techman:

And when you consider that the Emperor penguins spend the coldest part of their year in unimaginable conditions, keeping their unhatched offspring warm while fasting themselves... what other avians have such dedicated fathers?

Oh, and my choice wasn't on the list. I choose Tribbles, as they reduce most humanoids to cooing over them and hypnotically stroking them -- and the "tough" Klingons run away from them!

This opinion was firmed up after I read the short story "The Trouble With Borg Tribbles." :guffaw:
