TNG sound effects in the Guyver

JamesSmith

Lieutenant Commander
I was watching the Guyver last week, I was noticed it has some sound effects from Star Trek TNG (and the door sound from the Star Trek Movies).

Yep, they re-used the door opening effects in the Chronos building. The movie was made in 1990 or so, which explains it.

Jeffrey Combs was in that movie, he played "Dr East" who was a parody of Dr West from Re-Animator.

They reused the TNG phaser sound effect during the 2nd transformation of the Guyver before he says, "I am the Guyver!"

Are we talking the live action movie, where Mark Hammill turns into a turtle?

Or is it the OVA anime, or the recent anime remake? I think the anime uses sound effects from Ghostbusters...

The movie, and Hamill was supposed to be some kind of flesh-colored cockroach I think.

I recall some sort of fighter-jet anime from the late 1980s (Battle of the Planets movie?) where TNG sound effects weren't just used, but our heroes' computer interface system was straight-up LCARS, too. I giggled.
