Yeah that whole Rittenhouse thing gave me the shits. And how was it that when they travelled back INTO THE PAST that Rufus was able to contact them for orders? I just don't want to think about that too much it gives me a headache.

No time travel story survives scrutiny. Best way to enjoy them (your blood pressure will thank you) is to take the rules the story provides at face value. If that’s impossible, perhaps it’s best to avoid the whole thing.

I really liked this show and am glad it's getting something of a second season, but I agree the Rittenhouse thing was something that could've been left on the floor and they had some other thing driving the motivations of the villain and heroes. I'm tired of all of these shows having these "One World Conspiracy" organizations that are able to control and manipulate everything they want and have done this for decades or centuries utterly perfectly without being noticed or taken down. The simple conspiracy of a handfull of people and breaking into an office couldn't be kept quiet without a shit-storm happening, I doubt a centuries-old conspiracy dealing with 100s of people would be kept under wraps.

24 did it, Prison Break did it, Designated Survivor is doing it, this show is doing it and there's countless others out there where some One World Government conspiracy exists that controls and manipulates everything undetected. It's getting to be a worn out cliche.

Yeah, the Rittenhouse story was definitely the weakest part of the show. It probably would have been better if the motivation for the Flynn's time travel was just to save the his family. Even if they are ridiculous, I don't mind the big conspiracy stories, but the Rittenhouse stuff just wasn't very good.

And surprise in the final episode Flynn gives Lucy the diary that he got from her in the future and meanwhile her mother gave her a blank version of the same diary earlier. Oh and also she is Rittenhouse.. WTF?

They never mentioned travel into the future, or did Flynn come from the future? da da dum

The Rittenhouse conspiracy arc never really bothered me. I also liked how it made the protagonists' situation rather ambiguous and dramatic. I just hope that they eventually end it on the right note.

It's just that the One World Government Conspiracy That Manipulates Everything is so cliched and this show pushed even further by having this group operating for centuries. I'd think the guy traveling back in time to dick with the past for whatever reasons (artifact recovery, changing the past for some personal benefit, etc.) would be more interesting than, "Oh, he wants to end a One World Conspiracy because they killed his wife."

I agree with that. It's been done to death on better shows and movies.... It honestly didn't need to be done again.

But they want to make this new season "family friendly" and to me that says dumb it down even more then it is and make it non violent

if it seems totally different from what you remember it's not your memory - they retooled it between seasons.
