A 20-year-old back-up dancer for the Wiggles will become the group's first female member, as part of a major line-up change.
The band members - Anthony Field, Jeff Fatt, Murray Cook and Greg Page - have openly expressed their concerns about the rigours of touring in recent years.
Emma Watkins will be the new yellow Wiggle alongside two other performers - Lachlan Gillespie and Simon Pryce - who will replace Cook and Fatt.
The shock announcement about the retirement of three of the Wiggles comes only four months after the band controversially dumped its youngest member, Sam Moran.
Only the Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field, will remain.

I think it sucks how Sam was dumped by Greg only to be replaced again here.

This doesn't feel right to me.

The wiggles were only ever the wiggles when the original chaps were involved.

No kidding! I read an article a few years back when Greg first left the group and those guys have done it right.

Aw, that's a shame. Still, I wish them continued success!
I love the Wiggles. They're bright, fun, musically talented, and they seem to put a lot of work into entertaining children and adults alike.

I just remebered, back when enterprise was in it's first season a friend was all upset that Enterprise didn't use TOS style coloured uniforms. I kept sending her pics of the wiggles telling her that is what it would look like.

I imagine Anthony is only staying on to help springboard them into the new roles, and will probably bow out in a years time.

Sort of like a bridging companion for Doctor Who.

I'm astonished Jeff has stayed as long as he has - he's about 10 years older than the others I think.

But yeah, my first response when I read this was "Sam Moran must be pissed!" - kicked out because Greg's able to come back then 2 months down the line, Greg's retiring.

Nooo, it's just not right!

My niece and nephew are mesmerized by them every time they appear on the screen. They'll be so confused!

given how many years they've been around already, and the number of years the average toddler is interested in the same show, I'd say there's a good chance they could watch the show every day for as long as they are interested and still not get through all the re runs.
