Number 1- A companion with a knife. In the good old days both Jamie and Leela aided the Doctor by strapping a dagger to their hip, but in these times of media hoo-ha regarding knife crime, it's unlikely we'll see their like again...hence we'll miss such wonders as the comical "boing" effect heard when Leela threw her knife at a robot in Robots of Death.
 
A companion that ISNT from modern day earth.

A companion that carries Nitro-9 around with them...
 
I can't remember the old Doctor Whos. I recall one season was based entirely on Earth with a brigadier or something. I doubt we'll see anything like that again.
 
A cheap looking goofy rubber suit alien (with Moffat in charge I'm thinking no more Slitheen!). A male Companion without a hot totty female one.
 
Until RTD announced he'd be leaving, I was despairing about ever seeing a Doctor Who again where there WASN'T an immediate threat to the Earth/Humanity by some alien influence. Anyone remember the last Doctor Who story which had absolutely nothing to do with aliens? Hmm? No?
