The New Ad Astra Trek Fanfic Archive

...I thought I'd post an update as to the goings-on there as they've switched over to a new system architecture...

Thanks for posting! The original link I received from AA sent me to a site that Safari refused to open because of certificate issues. I am able to access this link.

Thanks!! rbs

Not sure why you'd be getting a certificate issue; we've got that part sorted finally. XD But the new site is currently at: https://beta.adastrafanfic.com

If you post, read the tagging FAQ beforehand!

And yeah, I do expect all y'all to come visit. If I have to haul out my old penname to get you over there-- *cracks the whip*

It doesn't seem to like Safari. I keep getting a page asking me to agree to the terms and policies, but the link is not active.

Do I need to build a new user profile? It doesn't seem to recognize me although I can still sign on to the old site.

Thanks!! rbs

Yes, you would need to make a new account on the new archive. We're not transferring anything from the old one except for thebluesman and RobScorpio's stuff, since they're no longer with us on this side. I can't test it with Safari, does anyone else have that ability? The link to the terms should come up, there should be a little box to mark and then a button to click--

▢ I have read & understood the new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

And then a gray button that says I agree/consent to its terms.

That should let you go to the main page. Up in the corner where it says Log In, you should be able to click it and see the link at the bottom of the box that says Create an Account. But if not, here's the direct link to the account creation page: https://beta.adastrafanfic.com/signup

Oooooooh, an AO3-style archive for Trek fics? I can dig this! I've been mulling a fusion fic (not a traditional crossover) with Agents of SHIELD characters forming an OC crew, but OC crews don't get much traction on AO3--like, at all.

*rushes off to sign up*

EDIT: I totally just signal-boosted this to my Tumblr mutuals.

Oh yeah. XD Took me weeks, three server wipes, a lot of begging Walter of SquidgeWorld.org for help, but by golly, I got otw-archive running for Ad Astra. And we absolutely have a robust OC crew list; we always have. Just make sure you read our Posting FAQs, because I am That [Insert Expletive] about tagging. :D

Yeah, I read about the tagging guidelines (and made sure to point that out explicitly in the post I made on Tumblr). I'm glad the guidelines are more strict than AO3. Some annoying crap goes on over there in the tags.

Though, to be fair, I'm guessing that the tag wranglers would be completely overwhelmed if they tried to be that strict, since AO3 is so big.

Oh, probably. I'm glad we're not that big. XD Or even .0001% as big. I'd lose my mind. (Or 'hire' more people.)
