The National Air and Space Museum posted this teaser image of a new exhibit. Any guesses?

It'll be unveiled at the Udvar-Hazy Center on May 3rd.

Yeah, it's a T-70. You can recognise the oval shaped footholds for getting in and out of the cockpit. Also I'm pretty sure the Smithsonian already has/had the orange T-70 from tRoS? Maybe they're just repainting it? Seems like an odd thing to do though.

Well that's disappointing. I was hoping for a T-65 (did they build any for Rogue One?).

The orange T-70 is in the part of the Air & Space museum on the National Mall, along with the Enterprise. This one's going in the Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles. Don't know yet if this is a second model, the orange one repainted, or even if it's full-scale.

Yep. There were some minor shape and detail differences (which I suspect is why the Visual Dictionary said the Rogue One ships were a slightly different variant than the OT X-Wings, T-65C-A2 and T-65B, respectively, but I don't think anyone ever came out and said so explicitly). It'd be nice for one to end up on public display in a museum or theme park, though I suppose it's possible they expect to still use them on the TV shows so they're holding on to them.

The orange one is really hideous, though, the fact that it's become the incumbent styling of the modern X-Wing is absolutely the worst thing thing about TRoS. :p

Isn't there an X-Wing at Galaxy's Edge, or was that a new one built just for the park?

Those were built specifically for the parks. There's four total, two each at Disneyland and WDW. One is out in the general walking area, and the other is in the Rise of the Resistance ride.

Ah, it's the super lightweight one they built around Boeing's drone, that flew around for the opening of Galaxy's Edge.
