Spoilers The Magicians Season 5

Mr. Adventure

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Jesus Helena Bonham Christ, it's back, anyone watching? I love Margo. "Well if it were me, I'd be driving a fucking semi down Fury Road." They must have a lot of fun writing her.

It seems to me a bit tighter without Quentin though I'm not sure what Alice's golem will bring. No matter what, I can't see that going well. Per usual, the characters are spread out at the start before undoubtedly coming together as the season progresses.

So I believe we have:
Penny and Fogg at Brakebills dealing with magic overload
Depressed Alice at home with her Q golem
Margo and Eliot 300 years in Fillory's future trying to figure out how to get back hopefully with Josh and Fen
Kady and Pete trying to get magic back for the Hedges and dealing with a missing building
Julia taking on a quest to save the world whether anyone wants her to or not

Random thoughts:

- Sir Effingham? F'ing Ham? literal sexist pig

- As much as I love Mageina Tovah, it's nice seeing Jewel Staite again.

- Fillory cosplay is a fun way to deliver exposition

- Alice is such damaged goods!

Tight.

Just finished rewatching seasons 1 - 4.

How does the time jump effect Margo's Lycanthropy?

She skipped 10 of them.

I really enjoy this show. I don't think Q was important to the show anymore and he just wasn't that interesting either. I forgot about Margo's lycanthropy, I hope the show hasn't.

This is my fav show...at present the only one you can watch over a few times to glean new insights. Margo is a wonderful character...

...that is all.

The Magicians is one of my favorite shows, and the new season is off to a great start.
The literal sexist pig was pretty funny. For any other Once Upon A Time fans on here, he was played by OUAT's Robin Hood, Sean Maguire.
The LARPers and the play were a fun way to fill in what's gone on in Fillory for the last 300 years. We've seen Fen and Josh in the trailers, so I'm assuming Elliot and Margo must make their way back in time at some point.
Penny's first couple lessons for the other Travelers were funny.
I wonder if Alice making a Quentin golem means Jason Ralph will be coming back to the show?

I was surprised Dean Fogg chided Julia for being a hedge witch and not having a Brakebill's magic education when HE was the one who kept her out. It was Jane's idea but he made the decision to do it.
Will Elliott send that letter to Q and screw everything up or will it fix some things OR will he think better of it? Can't wait to find out!

First I’ve liked Alice in a while, I liked her and Eliot’s journey here.

Was that Bilquis from American Gods as Zoe? Syfy made the credits unreadable and IMDB has been rather worthless recently.

Two new episodes next week. And they look pretty interesting.
Well, this episode had so much going on, at least 3 different crazy plot lines. Needed more Margo, though.

You could kind of see the seams this week that this was a TV production. I mean, of course it is, but it was more obvious than usual. Still, lots of stuff happening, Magicians MO is to set up and weave a lot of threads in the beginning to bring together later in the end. Always fun to see Matt Frewer bring his brand of mischief and in small doses he doesn't risk wearing out his welcome.

And now we know how the Dark King gets his magic?
And it seems pretty dark if that's the case.

This was a pretty solid episode, maybe not as immediately quotable as some but the plot lines were really moving along and clicking nicely. “Psycho Fogg” was fun and I like the botanist kid at Brakebills and don’t mind if we see more of him. No hedges this week but the Fillory stuff with the Dark King and the harmonic convergence aftermath had tons going on, good stuff.

Seems like magicians are constantly screwing things up in one way or another. And then they try to fix it and cause new problems. I liked the reveal about the Dark King. Now we finally know for sure...or DO we? Nice to see Todd again, anyway.

Well, that last ep was all over the place. I guess the Dark King is going to be pissed. I thought the body swap could have been better.

I remember on Quantum Leap the evil leaper, said that "FOR SCIENCE" that she must make love to someone asap, while she is still a man.

This switch was almost skeeve free.

Rats! I'll miss the whimsy in this show and especially Margot and Elliot.
"Cello Squirrel Daffodil" is the title of tomorrow's show. And the synopsis is "Penny wears only vintage; Alice rejects a sandwich; Julia does a thing".

The show would still be on if they had just put some effort into the episode synopses. :D

Seriously though, five seasons is a decent Syfy run not that I want to see it go.

Flattery flophouse!
The show does seem to be meandering somewhat. Very little happened this week to move things along.

I was trying to remember who some of the players were in this one.

Prime Margo:
“Hang with mad libs pedophile all you want but I’m going to double-tap the motherfucker like he’s Osama and I’m Seal Team Bitch.”
