The Least Disliked Episode 2023: Lower Decks Season 1

Our addictive biyearly game of rapid elimination returns - now with more shows than ever. It's generally a lot of fun, providing a chance to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favourite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel it would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

What a great season and start for a series! It's hard to pick because there's so much to love.

I will start with "Temporal Edict". 'Buffer Time' was funny, and watching the effects of it being taken away was funny, but there were better gags this season.

^ That's the one I would have picked for the first to eliminate as well.

The next one I'd be able to live without is “Cupid's Errant Arrow”. I thought the storyline with Mariner being suspicious of Boimler’s girlfriend was a little silly (in a bad way). It all came across as her not granting Boimler that relationship, which made her out to be more mean-spirited than usual. The B-storyline had some funny moments with Tendi and Rutherford being after the fabled T88, but it can't save the episode.

Whoa, this goes fast. Eliminating “Terminal Provocations”, because even though it gave us Badgey it also had Ensign Fletcher, who was wholly unlikeable.

Much Ado About Boimler

These are all fantastic! I will eliminate "Veritas", just for being slightly less special than the rest.

I couldn't eliminate "Envoys." The pilot is still LD's weakest episode, and it was "Envoys" where I was like "OK, this is a show!"

"Much Ado About Boimler" was SUCH a journey. I haaaaaaaaaated watching it the first time, then it lands in a way that suddenly made me love it and now it's an incredible rewatch. That's not a common experience. Plus, I had waited forever for the Edosians to come back!

"Crisis Point" is an LD high point and "No Small Parts" is an instant classic franchise highlight.

So, meanwhile "Veritas" is just a fantastic episode. That makes it the loser in this crowd.

Much Ado About Boimler

Completely missed the first round but Crisis Point is definitely my favourite episode. But also glad that Beanut Butter and No Small Parts gets a vote as well. The sassiest exocomp who ever lived. :D
