Chris Gorak’s 3D sci-fi thriller The Darkest Hour (2012) for August 5, 2011.

The film stars Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Rachel Taylor, Max Minghella and Joel Kinnaman as young tourists who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack.

The movie will be filmed in Moscow.

Not sure if this is another Cloverfield, War of the Worlds, Mars Attacks, or just like these two films in the post production pipeline: "Scar 23", or "Skyline".

Oh wow. That would suck to be tourists, who just happen to be in the city the aliens decide to attack.

I also think that Olivia Thirlby makes the cast interesting.
When I saw her in Juno (2007) I felt Olivia as Ellen Page's best friend reminded me of a teenage Scarlett Johansson in Ghost World (2001) and look how she turned out visually in her 20s.

Cool trailer. The scariest part is that I could recognize "Starbucks" instantly in Russian.

Looks like it could be interesting.

If I can get past the premise of five drunk nightclub hopping tourists in Russia apparently being better at fighting aliens than the police, the native Russians, the military, the entire scientific community etc.

Being young and good looking creates better box office gross though, screw the story telling logic.
