Terminator Salvation - The Ratings Battle Begins

Talk from WonderCon -- there has been the on-going debate over what MPAA rating T4 will get, lame ass PG-13, or the normal (for the series) R. Many, many fans, want R. Terminator is an R franchise, like Die Hard. PG-13 just neuters it too much.

Well, apparently, one scene could determine it all. There is apparently a topless scene with actress Moon Bloodgood that the studio is trying to get cut (to be PG-13) and that McG and the actress are fighting to keep in (and thus, the film would become R, because the MPAA is prudish and breasts are evil and must be rated R to protect the children!...)

Frankly, a topless scene doesn't matter that much to me. I just hate the idea of these human survivors running around fighting for their lives and the right for man to exist and not being allowed to say the F word while doing it! It's war! You say the F word in war!

*Hopes McG wins*

I'm actually disappointed that the rating comes down to nudity. We are talking about a war with a nuclear holocaust. With people being killed by machines. With the surviving people being kept in labs to perform cruel experiments on.

I would've been more impressed if it had come down to seeing someone's body explode than a couple of harmless boobies.

Boobs can be shown in a PG-13 movie, just look at Titanic. But the scene has to be not sexual in order to pass.

With a name like Moon Bloodgood, I expect a lot of killing, preferable with exotic edged weapons.

We all know that the studio will get its way and this will be rated PG-13 - which is funny because they paid for T3 to get an R Rating.

If thats the scene that determines the R then there are no F's. Thats an automatic R I think.

Man, it's okay to have a piece about machines blowing up billions and enslaving the rest, but show a few titties, God forbid.

We are such a fucked up society, sometimes.

A better question would be why the f do we need a PG13 rating? T1 and T2 were both R, it should be good enough for this film.

Not only should they keep in the tits, they should just overload it with F-Bombs.

Maybe they should try to tone it down to G levels, just to increase the size of their potential audience.

I'd rather it be R as well, but let's face facts... if the only thing holding it from being R is a pair of righteous tits, then cut 'em. I want to see them as much as the next guy, but it's not going to be the kind of movie I'm hoping for if this is the only thing keeping it from PG-13.

If you want an R Rating have someone smoke a cigarette or cigar (it was recently proposed by the MPAA that someone smoking on film be an automatic R rating).

Actually, last I heard according to McG the studio executive over at WB, Jeff Robinov, which decides such things pretty much told McG to make the movie he wanted whether it be PG-13 or R. It is McG who is debating whether or not to make it R, not some "war" between the director and the studio.

in the interview in Empire, McG says he's just making the movie and it'll be rated what ever it is. he cited Dark Knight as an example of an intense PG-13 movie.

in the UK, the certificates got lower as the franchise went on: T1 is 18, T2 is 15 and T3 is a 12...

Ah, its moments like this that are priceless.
Machines ripping bodies in half in a bloody melee or 30 seconds of breasts.
Gore good! Globes bad!
:lol::lol::lol:
