In the interests of trying to add some actual content to this thread, I'll mention this story that I imagine most big Firefly fans are already aware of but some other people might not be.

Summer's first television appearance was on Angel, in a 2002 episode titled "Waiting in the Wings," utilizing her ballerina background for a non-speaking role as a ballerina. It was that appearance that brought her to Joss Whedon's attention, resulting in his decision to cast her as River Tam on Firefly.

Semi-correct. It was not a non-speaking role. She definitely had dialogue.

I knew I should've excised that part. It's been far too long since I last saw that episode, so I was going simply by memory.

My, that was lovely.

And yes, her Angel role was definitely a speaking part; I remember her using a Russian accent there.

I wouldn't really call that ballerina as I would dance. Splitting hairs I guess but not really ballerina, just dance.

Err, the dance form is ballet. A ballerina is a female ballet dancer.

And no, that wasn't exactly a formal ballet performance, but it had elements of ballet moves.

Forgive me for my beers this evening. It was not ballet even if it had a ballet move or two it was just dance. ;)

It's just like a writer to split hairs. :p

Sorry, the original poster on YouTube described it thus, so I did too.

That's very nice, but you need to accompany your copy-paste thread starts with some content of your own. You have now been told about this 6 times, and last time I said that if you did it again, it would have to be an infraction for spamming. In the 9 days since I posted that, you've started 5 threads. Every single one a copy paste job with little or nothing added by you. This is the second in this forum alone, and a particularly notable example. You also hotlinked images again after being warned about that, here. I think you've been given more than sufficient warnings, so you've earned yourself an infraction for spamming.

There's nothing wrong with posting about an article, website or video you find interesting, but just pasting it in and saying 'dunno if this has been posted yet' isn't enough. Please add some content, comment, analysis, follow-on, something of your own. It's not just pedantry - blindly stealing content from other websites is plagiarism.

Anybody's comments to PM, please.
