STO - Duty Officer Exchange

Timelord79 (he/him)

Vice Admiral
Admiral
This is an experimental thread. Not sure if there is demand for it, and if it works the way I intend.
Before we clutter the fleet and discussion threads with doff requests and offers, let's have a designated thread for that.

Post your surplus doffs here that could benefit other players as well as requests that others might have.

Maybe in this format:

Thafool@Timelord_Victorious:
Offers:
Shield Distribution Specialist - Green - diplomatic, tactful, telepathic, stubborn

Request:
Doctor - any quality - eidetic memory, tactful

Sounds like a great idea.

N'Eraz@Glass.Half.Empty (KDF character)

Request:
Tractor Beam Officer - Any Quality
Transporter Officer - Any Quality

Let me know what you might want in return.

@Rocketeer_7

Offer: Almost any white DOFF (FED or KDF), FED Junior Officer Cadre

Request: Colonists (FEd or KDF), I go through them like candy for the Colonial chain assignments.

On a related note, I'm thinking of returning to STO. Do these DUTY OFFICERS actually show up on your ship interior? Is their appearance customizable?

No, Think of them as sophisticated trading cards. You can use them for doff missions (a closed mini game system with it's own rewards or assign them to active duty to gain some space and ground traits and procs.

The DOFF system adds a strategic element to STO. Assigning the right DOFF to your Space or Ground staff can add a big advantage. I was using a DOFF that gave a high chance to creating/beaming in additonal phaser turrets. In the Defari invasion, my engineer character used that to his advantage against the Borg. Every 2nd or 3rd time that he or an away team member created a phaser turret, additional ones appeared. Many Borg died on that day.

It would be cool if the DOFFs actually showed up inside your ship. Currently there are a bunch of zombies roaming the corridors.

Most of my characters are tanked on DOFFs. I've started trimming some of the fat and will have some surplus whites and greens available soon. I'll also start putting some surplus Fed Jr Off Cadre there. Most of the ones I open are all white, so they don't do me any good.

Also check the Exchange as these days I see affordable whites and greens from time to time. The easiest way to find something is to search by name. Hopefully in the future you'll be able to search by occupation.

Have Blue KDF Hazard Officer

Need Blue KDF Energy Weapons Officer or Warp Theorist or Sensors Officer

With the Gamma Quadrant update to the DOFF system, I upgraded my number of slots to 125 on my main toon. I was thinking of purchasing the DOFF pack from the c-store, but here is my question - is it possible to get duplicates of DOFFs? I don't want to spend c-store points for DOFFs that I already have.

I am currently focused on getting all of the colonial chain and tier 3 and 4 DOFFs. My goal is ultimately to only have blue and purple DOFF's on my roster.

Yes, you can have duplicates of the common DOFFs. I try to keep duplicates to a minimum for RP purposes.

I agree that increasing space for the new GQ DOFFs and assignments makes sense.

I noticed that sometime last week, you began to be able to search by occupation. And prices went uuuup!

Yes, I saw the new search options also. That is a big help. I intended to post, but you beat me to the punch. You could also review the DOFFs at the STO Wiki. When you see one you like, search for it in the Exchange by name.

For anyone that's new coming in, I'm the *official* fleet DOFF systems guy. I participate in group chats with Geoff “Heretic” Tuffli, Senior Systems Designer. He takes our suggestions and incorporates some of them into the DOFF system. Feel free to contact me with a question or suggestion. Doc Lee@Rocketeer_7 (space between Doc and Lee)

One of these days I may need to do something about my Roster. Find the best ones for active duty and a good selection for assignments with good quality and traits.

My main toon has about 120 out of 125 slots filled. I like to keep about 3-4 of each specialization in my roster, so that I'm covered for most Doff mission types. I'm less than 1000 points away from reaching T3 trade, which should happen either tonight or tomorrow. I'll then get all 5 of the T3 Blue Trade DOFFs, and dismiss the green Doffs in my roster of the same specialization.

You can not assign DOFFs that are on assignment to a space or ground slot. So after you've collected the rewards from completed assignments (and everyone if free), check you roster.

Move DOFFs around with your characters to make better use of them. If one of my Sci chars has a blue engr DOFF they will trade with one of my Engr chars for a blue sci DOFF.

You can replicate a few holographic DOFFs. It's at the bottom of your Inventory/replicator. They have the Photonic trait.

I know this sounds like common sense, but try to find DOFFs that enhance your skills or the skills of your Bridge Officers. For example, if you use torps a lot, get the Tactical - Projectile Weapons Officer DOFF that reduces cooldown times on torps. If you use ground turrets, get the DOFF for that. If you use Gravity Well, get the DOFF for that. Having a blue or purple DOFF in the skills that you use the most can make some impressive enhancements on your gameplay.

Yup I have the two rare Jem'Hadar doffs on active space duty as they make excellent Projectile Weapon Officers.

A question.

I read the Doff you set for active duty on your ship are bound there. Do they move with you to the new ship or are they on the old ship forever?

Good thread idea.

Offering: Rare Armory Officer, Security Officer, Bartender, Diplomat, Advisor, Technician, Matter-Antimatter Specialist, Sensors Officer, Maintenance Officer or Deflector Officer.

Want: Rare (or very rare if feeling generous :P) Damage Control Engineer.

Edit: Fed side.
