"Starship Troopers" movie ships?

Have any vital statistics (length, width, height, tonnage, crew complement) been given by the designers or the film studio on the Rodger Young? Or the trooper landers?

Or does anyone have a link to a website where this information may be found, or a discussion of such?

I have no links or information, but I will say that they were about the coolest starships I've seen 8)

Yeah, it's too bad their brilliant strategy was to pack as closely together so the bugs could wipe them out easier. ;) The Roger Young is an interesting design.

I liked the ships in Starship Troopers....including the ring docking thing around Earth. That was bad ass.

That was around the moon, not Earth. The ring thing was firing at an asteroid that the bugs had launched AT Earth, which is often the source of the confusion.

The Rodger Young model is often considered by model nuts as the last best example of sci-fi model making before CGI took over as the standard. The big movie model was EIGHTEEN FEET LONG! I'm not sure if anyone's done anythign that big or detailed in the last decade.

And don't count out the CGI Rodger Young from the "Roughnecks" animated series. I find that one to be almost as good IMO, and unlike the live-action movie, THIS ship actually got to fire back instead of just dodging other ships.:P

I love the Roger Young, a Awsomely great Sci-fi desing!:techman: But I prefer the NEWER ship desing seen at the very end of the movie, it looked more streamlined.

I have to admit, now that it's said that the Rodger Young is an awesome looking ship. Gotta love the attention to detail, like on some of the ships, even briefly, seeing a small flight deck on the top of one, with what looks like elevators to bring the fighters inside.

Too bad they didn't save any of the FX budget for the MI armor - or a script. :)

Did you know that the script that the movie was having written for it wasn't originally even meant to be Starship Troopers, just that someone on the team commented on some of the similarities, and so a few names were changed, and some speeches from the novel were ripped from it, to make it vaguely like it, hence no MI armour :( Not even the ones that appeared in the 2nd (Hero of the Federation doesn't exist, regardless of what anyone tells you) movie does it justice.

As for script money? Sometimes alll you need is dakka and boobies to make a movie. A good one? A different story ;)

Wow! Congratulations... You managed to completely miss the point of the movie. :bolian:
