Stargate Replicators Vs The Borg

Plutodawn

Lieutenant
Newbie
If the two factions hypothetically met in a third galaxy, who would win?

If your too Anal-Retentive to come to a conclusion due to the too many variables involved counter a response, then can you at least note the Strengths and Weaknesses of each side, and in hypothetical situations, how sparring between individuals or groups would look like?

Also, how do I get this cat off me? Keeps climbing on.

I assume you are including the human form replicators, not just the bugs. Both species are highly adaptive and intelligent. The Borg could probably adapt their nanites to disrupt the replicator blocks at the molecular level. In time, the Borg could probably use their nanites to stop the replicator blocks from working. But the Replicators could consume the inside of a Borg cube, replicating more replicators exponentially. So the Replicators would far outnumber the Borg in a short time. Furthermore, the Replicators are what they eat so future replicator blocks would be made of the same material that the Borg ship is made of. The Borg would have an infestation on their hands that would grow faster than they could contain. I am also not sure if the Borg could assimilate a human form replicator. So ultimately, I think the Replicators would win because they would consume the Borg ships and become so numerous that the Borg would be completely outnumbered.

The Borg should only need to assimilate one replicator and then they'd know everything about them, including how the replicators communicate with each other. They could then use that signal to make the replicators think that the Borg are just other replicators, and so they'd no longer try to use the material on Borg cubes to replicate with.

If a replicator gets a hold of Borg tech, then that's going to make for a bad day for the Borg. Replicators also have the advantage that their individual blocks do not require organic components to continue on their mission.

Starfleet officers hack the Borg systems and put the Borg to sleep, SG team uses This Week's Ancient Weapon to obliterate Replicators and Borg simultaneously. Jack O'Neill and Captain Picard then go fishing.

I think the edge goes to the Borg. The Replicators tend to be more brute-force. It's all about "consume and reproduce". The Borg "assimilate and adapt" offers more subtlety. As others have said, they could use either nanites or adapted communications to mess up the Replicators at a distance.

You can deal with that cat this way: After the Borg win, give it to them. Once they've assimilated "cattitude", they'll think they've achieved perfection and they won't bother anyone else.*

*Credit goes to Mrs. Silvercrest for this one.
