What does the title mean? Roughly translated…

"To the stars, through difficulties."
"Through hardships, to the stars."
"Through adversity, to the stars."

Take your pick.

"Commander Una faces court-martial along with possible imprisonment and dishonorable dismissal from Starfleet, and her defense is in the hands of a lawyer who’s also a childhood friend with whom she had a terrible falling out." - TrekMovie.com

No Samuel T. Cogley in sight. Yet.

Much as I'd like to see Cogley show up, it's also good to see some of the other people working in the same field in that time frame. It gives him a community context of his own.

Trailer and preview video spoilers
Una's lawyer is not Cogley, also the lie detector chairs from TOS are back

I don’t think there is a Star Trek trial episode I didn’t like so I’m really looking forward to this one. I kinda wish the series was set during the same time as Prodigy so they can mention Dal but oh well. I think the ending will be a little predictable but with these kind of episodes, it’s really about how we get there.

They could have done so on Picard. Three years and Seven haven't said anything about Chakotay going missing.....Heck, she didn't even name drop him. And they could have Ro confirm it was Chakotay she was talking about in Redemption.

Nah.

Nah.
What does this have to do with the episode? Did you open the wrong thread?

What if she's exonerated and allowed to stay in Starfleet on condition of becoming de-augmented?

That would put a most interesting spin on things.

It's pretty obvious how this has to go down.

They're going to overturn Starfleet's regulation against genetic engineering.

Because it's a really bad and ridiculously dated notion. It's unfair.

Why is it unfair? It's an entrance requirement based on one's heredity, that's why.

These producers are willing to throw that stuff overboard.

We'll see tomorrow whether that's what happens, or not.

Una's not actually an Augment, is she? She doesn't have supernatural abilities or anything like that. As far as we know, her strength and intelligence are (considerable, but) otherwise normal.

So there would be nothing to take away from her.

In any case, we KNOW she will be exonerated, since the actress is not leaving the show.

She is.

She has a super immune system. We saw it last season.

I don't think they're going to contradict DS9.
They may even solve a contradiction here: Purely defensive abilities like the immune system can be enhanced, but nothing that would give you superior strength, intellect, etc. that puts others at an unfair disadvantage. That would finally make Darwin station make sense, at least the kids the story focused on (not the telekinesis though :D). Yes I know, it's not necessary, but it wouldn't hurt, and whenever they make something odd make more sense and 'fit', it's a good thing.
