Star Trek serial masks of the 70s!

Does anyone remember the cardboard masks of Trek characters that you could get back in the 70s on the back of serial boxes? Can't remember if it was Corn Flakes or even Rice Crispies but there was Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty I think, Klingon, Monster and Ruk! We used to cut 'em out and wear them around the old garages as kids! Happy memories...

Can't help but to see the unintended humor here. Please, it's not to mock you.

By typing "serial", I thought you were going to discuss how the Don Post "over the head" rubber mask of Captain Kirk was used for the serial killer Michael Myers in the movie "Halloween". I now understand you meant "cereal".

Sincerely,

Bill

I 'spose that none of the actors "represented" with these masks ever saw a dime from them....

AAAGHHH! Of course it's spelt Cereal what was I thinking of? No probs but what a fool I look and wonder why I put that down?

I always thought there was a Scotty mask too but now I find it was Sulu and no monster either! Thanks anyway guys!

Well, the McCoy looks rather good. But Spock looks like a transporter "fusion" with Alfred E. Newman from "Mad" Magazine.

Agreed. I thought the art was sort of along the lines of the work of MAD artist Jack Rickard, who painted two of the most famous TOS satire covers of the 70's--

Like the cereal box art, not photo realistic, but close enough.

As always, they never name the non-hero characters, in this case Ruk and Kang. They're simply "An android" and "A Klingon" respectively. Kind of like the Mego Klingon figure was obviously Koloth, but with the hair done oddly (a widow's peak?) so as to not have to pay William Campbell for using his likeness.

Hey, just realized, that if you are a serial killer. then you got these serial masks off of a box of cereal, the more people you killed the writers would have more material on you to make an old style cliff hanger serial.

But the again, movies about serial killers could be immaterial to some.

Kirk with blue eyes? Wait, that's not William Shatner, that's Paul Newman! I also see that the part of Bones has been recast for Anson Williams, and Sulu looks like an Asiatic Alfred E. Neuman. Also, I didn't realize Yul Brenner had guested on Star Trek/
