Wow. That's probably the only thing they could do to make me log back into that aging game. Nice.

Nice idea but the prices are too high and the fully painted version shown in the video doesn't even look very good.

I think this is like the third time STO has "announced" this in the past two years. I suspect it's not generating the interest that they had hoped. Those prices are a bit on the high side for an Eaglemoss-sized model. Although, I suppose for one-off custom models they need to recover their costs somehow. They do look nice, in any case.

Aging? Sure it's 8 years old but it's still going strong.

8 years is an eternity for a game-engine. Isn't it on its third owners now? Cryptic to Perfect World to Arc?

The problems with the game at inception, namely the load-screens and instancing, were never solved. Even now you can't seamlessly fly through the docking doors at Spacedock. Antiquated compared to something like Elite Dangerous.

There is the potential for a truly immersive MMORPG experience in the Star Trek universe but STO isn't it.

I do like some of the ship designs they came up with, tho, since they feel like what I would expect to see post-Nemesis. STO is really all that's left of true prime-Trek.

I tried STO on Xbox One a couple years ago and it was extremely glitchy and buggy. Seemed incomplete. Kind of turned me off the game, unfortunately.

Cryptic are the developers.

PerfectWorld owns Cryptic (bought them from Atari), and Arc is a platform created by PerfectWorld.

It's still fun to play.

Ah, thank you for the clarification. Makes sense, I can't imagine how expensive it would be to start up an operation like this.

Has anyone done this yet? I want to but it’ll cost nearly $500 to do. I would love to see some photos to see what the quality is like.

Kinda makes me wish I played STO like it was Skyrim. Just couldn't get into it, though. Very glitchy and buggy on the starter episodes I played and soured me on it early on.

Really? They said it would take 4-6 days when I went through the process.
I wanted to see some actual ships people received and so not just the promo pics. I'm just worried they're going to look really shoddy.
I'm just going by what the PR has said.
