Star Trek: Discovery: Aggravated that CBS will charge us

After checking with Netflix, I learned that only customers outside the United States and Canada will be able to watch Star Trek: Discovery on Netflix. All of us in Canada and US must get the CBS All Access app and pay $5.99 per month for episodes with ads or $9.99 without ads. Only Chromecast and Apple TVs will have the app. Other TVs will not, which will force us to watch it on a tablet. That really makes me mad!!!!

Well you could do what I'm going to do: Just wait a few days after the season ends and they will have the DVDs/Blurays for sale on Amazon or your Local Best Buy.

And you're getting The Good Fight on All Access too, which is pretty decent and getting pretty good ratings so there must be enough people willing to subscribe and watch.

Actually, in Canada it's airing on the Space channel. We'll be watching the new Trek on TV, the only country in the world to be doing so. Which is fine by me.

It is a lot more than just a few days after the season ends that Netflix will have it....at least six months for Outlander, as an example.

This is incorrect.

It is airing on TV in Canada (Space channel) as well as streaming commercial free on Crave.

I already have the app on my Xbox One.

So the OP cross posted the same message in an existing thread and then started another thread himself in the same forum to spread the same blatantly incorrect information.....

As far as cost goes, I just dropped nearly $50 (US) on the Roddenberry Vault Blu-ray and $42 on the Star Trek: The Motion Picture soundtrack LP.

$5.99/$9.99 a month is a drop in the proverbial bucket compared to what I've spent on Star Trek over the years.

And these are the only 3 messages he has ever posted.

I didn't say Netflix. I said it will be sold in stores and online right after the season ends.

I thought there was a 14 day/14 post requirement before you could start new treads?

Looks like OP read/heard something wrong / misinterpreted what he saw / was told, googled Trek forums, then started rage posting here without actually looking up what is true....

Keep in mind that the $5.99/$9.99 isn't only to get STD, though IMO it would certainly be worth it even if that was the case.

You also get thousands of episodes of CBS's other shows, as well as a couple of other series exclusive to their streaming service.

I mean... we do watch stuff besides Star Trek, right?

... riiight?

Dr. Who, Archer, Hell on Wheels. Pretty boring over here. But I will do some due diligence with CBSAA to see if I can get more value for my $9.99.

Does WWE wrestling count?

Unless the pilot episode just totally blows me away, that is exactly what I'll be doing as well, waiting to watch in on Amazon, or whoever has it for sell for streaming.
