Amazon.com now has the prequel comic for STXI available for pre order.
The site lists Robert Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Tim Jones and Mike Johnson as the writes, and also gives a brife synopsis:

104 pages? Is that right? That's quite stout for a movie tie-in that doesn't even adapt the film. I wonder if they'll be bundling in some of their other Trek comics as a sampler, as DC and Marvel have done in the recent past with movie adaptations...

Odd. The link given in the other thread on this gives a release date of April 29.

There will be a novelization, but no author has been announced yet.

Pocket is also repackaging the "Crucible" trilogy ("McCoy", "Spock", "Kirk") by David R George III, as a very chunky hardcover omnibus, complete with a newly-written bonus section to incorporate some links to the new movie.

TrekMovie.com has some more details on this comic. Specifically:

Spoiler: the premise for the comic book miniseries.

As revealed recently, the plot of the film involves Nero traveling back in time to the era before the Original Series. This Comic Book prequel, which is said to ‘take us right up to the movie,’ is primarily set in the time before Nero goes back in time, specifically the Next Generation era after Star Trek Nemesis. The main characters for the prequel will not be the young TOS crew but Nero and the elder Spock (and possibly familiar characters from the TNG era).
