Spock vs Q (audio)

I have the original cassette of the Spock vs Q cassette? Was it ever released on CD?

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51JPJ1A1J2L._SL500_AA300_.jpg

I also heard word there was a sequel. I imagine that is in CD, but was it any good?

Were there any other "Alien Voices" cassettes/CDs beyond Spock vs Q?

Cheers.

Janos,

Welcome to the board, there are a few things you need to be aware of.

First, hotlinking images from sites you don't own is against the board rules here. Please use a regular link instead. I have changed the image in this post to a link for you.

Second, I see you are starting (or have started) several threads over the past couple of days. This, in general, isn't against the official rules, but a general rule of thumb is to not do that because it is rather disruptive to existing threads pushing most of the recent discussions off the first page with mostly threads started by you. So, in the future please refrain from starting a multitude of threads, and instead if you have several questions to ask just start one with a more generic name and ask them all in that one thread.

And lastly, I am very glad you went and found old threads that exists on topics you had questions about rather than starting a new thread. This is good (contrary to some people talking about "zombie thread" or "thread resurrection"). So this note is more for those people: Resurrecting an old thread is perfectly OK, indeed it is encouraged, when the thread is resurrected by actually adding something to the thread of substance. This is only a problem when thread resurrection is more spammy and adds nothing to it.

Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks. Will note this for the future. Thanks for fixing my few posts with pics.

I don't anticipate being some prolific in thread creation in the future. I've been awya from ST lit forums for about 5 years and just had some Qs to ask. I pretty much had all my Qs addressed by the helpful posters here.

That said, if in future I have a bunch of Qs again I will continue to see if an old thread exists where I can post the Q or, if I need to create new threads, will space them out over a few days. I'm not a fan of omnibus threads. But, that said, I will be careful about the volume of new threads I create. Clearly, the last 2 days have been an opportunity to get caught up with folks around here and I appreciate everyone's kindness, their welcoming me, and making me feel comfortable in sharing my views (as many know, there are many "unfriendly" forums on the 'net.... this certainly is not one of them).

I think trying to find existing threads before starting a new one should be commong board etiquette. I am a moderator on another forum on the 'net so am familiar with what I would term the "basic" rules of forums that are for the most part transferable. There are some slight differences like this board's view on pics, etc. But I will respect the rules around here.

I appreciate the knowledge of folks around here and the tone that has been created around here. Very civil and respectful. It makes it easier for us to talk about the ST lit that we all enjoy (or not enjoy in some cases :klingon:).

Thanks. Also, did you see my comments about the limitation Christopher mentioned about advanced searches? There probably are DS9 relaunch threads out there, but when I did the search none came up so I created a DS9 relaunch thread. That said, if the system would lower the letter count threshold to 3 letters it might be even easier to ensure no duplicate threads. Anyhow, take these comments as you wish and thanks again for your kind welcome and advice.

Yes, but nothing else Trek-related. Alien Voices was a troupe founded by Nimoy and DeLancie and sometimes featuring guest appearances by other Trek actors, but they mostly did radio-style adaptations of classic, public-domain SF novels -- H. G. Wells, Jules Verne, Arthur Conan Doyle, and the like.

When I was younger I listened to their War of the Worlds adaptation a couple times. It was alot of fun. It was actually a remake of the radio show though, not an adaptation of the book. I also had their The Time Machine, but I don't remember to much of it.

I believe I saw a listing on Amazon for both packaged together on CD, but this was sometime ago, and I can't seem to find it now. It might have been a special edition, or a special order or something.

The products were released individually, and as a "combo-pack" of the pair. I don't even know if they are still available at all.

Amazon still has both for sale new separately and the combo-pack. I'm sure there are many available from other sellers as well as ebay.

I'm pretty sure they're also available as digital downloads on ITunes, and audible.com. Pretty much every Trek audiobook is available at one of or both of those places.

I'd have to re-listen to my cassette of the first one, but would folks recommend getting both in CD? I recall the first one being entertaining, but I don't remember details (I listened to the cassette a long time ago).
