Spike tv showing Walker Texas Ranger

I've never watched the show for more than a minute or two, but they have these funny clips during the commercial breaks where Chuck solves problems. I really like how he solves the oil leak problem. He beats the hell out of a bunch of oil workers at their headquarters.

Haven't watched a full episode since I was a kid watching it with my grandfather. It was fun, but I was in the 8-10 year old range, so I loved any action show. I seem to remember almost every episode ended with an extended fight scene in an abandoned warehouse. the rangers would get tied up taking care of the common thugs leaving chuck to kick the main thug in the face, often in slo-mo.

I did see a bit while channel surfing and ran across Walker teaching a history class. He ended up arm wrestling the loud obnoxious bully kid, beating him as the principle came by.

"I thought this was a history class, mr. walker?"

"It is....He's History."

It took a few minutes to fully recover from the cheese.

I don't remember this show very well. Were the first few seasons pretty gun-free with Chuck Norris mainly doing martial arts to subdue the bad guys? And then in later seasons they were gunning criminals down like they were Bruce Willis?

I can appreciate Walker: Texas Ranger for what it is -- simple-minded action fare for when you just feel like putting your higher brain centers on hold and watching the good guy kick the bad guy's ass into the middle of next week.

Whenever I hear this show mentioned the first thing I think about is Connan O'brien's Walker Texas Ranger lever/Chuck Norris Rural Policeman Handle.

I loved this show when I was growing up, heck I even own the complete series on DVD. After all it is a highly philosophical show that has many redeeming virtues... even if Chuck performs the theme himself. And if you believe that then you will absolutely love ALF.

But my all time favorite episode is the one with Hulk Hogan.

But my all time favorite episode is the one with Hulk Hogan.

My girlfriend really like this show, she thinks Chuck Norris is HOT.
