And he makes himself look like a creepy fool for most of the first part of their entrapment but they eventually conenct and have some fun (clean fun) and when the blackout stops and they can get out of the room Jill tells Chandler she had a good time and even gives him a nice kiss goodbye.

What does Chandler NOT do?

Ask for her fucking phone-number or any other way to reconnect with her!

Chandler, man, you're an idiot.

It's almost a shame to let this topic go to another forum, because it's so deep. Alas, I must...

Creepy Chandler walked away empty handed because Jill Goodacre didn't want him in her vestibule.

That's just the way Chandler was in S1. It was true to the character at the time.

I have to say, this was one of my favourite Friends episodes for ages. My appreciation for it has faded a little in recent years, but it's still brilliant. Chandler's phone call where only the guys can understand his coded mumbling is brilliant, and the coda where Chandler quotes his account number to the the CCTV camera and asks for a copy of the video is just hilarious.

I hardly think you're in a position to criticise :p

"You know, on second thought, gum would be perfection."

Gum would be perfection? Gum would be perfection?! Could have said, gum would be nice. Or, I'll have a stick, but no no no no. For me, gum is perfection.

I loathe myself...

Just brilliant.

Maybe he asked for her number and she just didn't want to give it to him? Maybe he didn't want to ask for it.

I wonder if the bank ever did give him a copy of the security tape...

Friends is up there with Seinfeld and Frasier as one of my most favorite sitcom. I'm watching through Friends on DVD now. :)

Oh, I'm not lucky or knowledgable in the ways of women, sure, but I think I'm sharp enough to realize that if a woman I've been stuck in a room with for several hours gives me a hug and a kiss-on-the-cheek goodbye then something is happening there.

This was a good episode and interesting when it first aired as part of a "Black-Out NBC Thursday" which had Mad About You, Friends, and some other flash-in-the-pan NBC sitcom (The Single Guy?) all doing blackout themed episodes. (Seinfeld opting out.)

Oh man I loved this episode. Someday, maybe 15 years from now, it'll be considered a classic. Hey, off topic I heard a rumor that Ross is going to get a monkey. That should be hilarious!

Anyone have plans for new years? I just can't believe that it's almost 1995, it seems like the 80s ended just a few months ago...

It's unlikely he got a tape from his bank, since the security camera likely doesn't record sound.
