I don't get either, but it may be due to cold medicine and, I dunno, prescribed medication issues I have from time-to-time.

That's just the way Chandler was in S1. It was true to the character at the time.

I have to say, this was one of my favourite Friends episodes for ages. My appreciation for it has faded a little in recent years, but it's still brilliant. Chandler's phone call where only the guys can understand his coded mumbling is brilliant, and the coda where Chandler quotes his account number to the the CCTV camera and asks for a copy of the video is just hilarious.

Oh, I'm not lucky or knowledgable in the ways of women, sure, but I think I'm sharp enough to realize that if a woman I've been stuck in a room with for several hours gives me a hug and a kiss-on-the-cheek goodbye then something is happening there.

This was a good episode and interesting when it first aired as part of a "Black-Out NBC Thursday" which had Mad About You, Friends, and some other flash-in-the-pan NBC sitcom (The Single Guy?) all doing blackout themed episodes. (Seinfeld opting out.)

Oh man I loved this episode. Someday, maybe 15 years from now, it'll be considered a classic. Hey, off topic I heard a rumor that Ross is going to get a monkey. That should be hilarious!
